Referral perks?

I just got a letter from DVC saying congrats for referring someone for a purchase. Is there any benefit for me other than the letter? Please don't take this as selfish...well I guess that is what it is, nevermind.

It depends a little on where you live. I have gotten that letter often. What it means is that someone either talked to a DVC person at the kiosk or went on the tour. If and when they actually do purchase, you will get another one either offering the bonus of $200 or that amount off your dues IF (it's a big if) you live in a state that allows such things. Unfortunately, Minnesota does not allow it, so I just get a nice "thank you" letter and an explaination of why they can't give me the bonus each time. That first letter you got though, probably means someone mentioned your name at the kiosk or on a tour.

We live in Texas where only a licensed real estate person can receive a referral fee. We do get plenty of letters saying thanks though.

We just received a letter that a friend purchased in and we get to choose from disney dollars, a prepaid visa, downpayment toward an add on or annual dues credit. The amount depends on how many people you've referred and is like a ladder.

Do you know if Michigan is a state in which you receive the incentives? I have a friend that is going to stay with us and decide if she is going to buy DVC and $200 would be nice.

How long after the referral did you get the letter?My cousin bought at the end of February and I am patiently waiting. I know NJ is on the list to get $200 for a one time referral. Here's hoping!

I just got a packet of information about my choices from a referral, the person returned the papers on 2/14/08. It did show up on the website about a month ago.

We got the letter a few times now. It's just a letter. Nothing more. But maybe because nothing else can be offered here.

if you live in pa. you will get the letter but nothing else. its against pa laws.

Kind of funny since I am still trying to remember the person on my thank you letter. Well that's kind of normal for me, Only 38 and after a month things start fading away.

In Texas you can receive a referral gift only if you are a licensed real estate agent.

That is too funny because we received the thank you referral letter a couple of months ago and this week we received the paper to choose our "gift." I wish we could figure out who these people are to thank them. The name means nothing to us.

We met a lovely couple from England over the summer and they joined the DVC in January. We got a thank you letter and about a week or two ago there was a $200 gift level for me to redeem and I have to redeem it by 7/08. Maybe things have changed because I live in PA.
