MS called last friday to change our 10/2-10/10 ressie for BWV to BCV due to referbishment. I was surprised there was availability during F&WF. We'll miss our BW view but this will give us the opportunity to try BCV as well as have Stormalong Bay!

The points to transfer to BCV is equivalent to the Boardwalk view. A few other members have received the same call and changes to their accomodations.

What is the latest refurb schedule? Has work started and when will it be done? What is being done?

I've heard that the refurb is happening at least through the end of this year and includes a "soft refurb" of the rooms (things like drapes, bedspreads, carpeting) plus new HDTVs. The roof is also being replaced, which jives with recent reports of scaffolding in the standard-view section. But I haven't seen anyone with a standard-view reservation reporting that they've been asked to move, so it sounds like the room refurbs are happening on the boardwalk-view rooms first. Bummer because we have a 2BR SV last week of July and I was hoping for a refurbished room.

They've been working on it for some time now.

When I was there in January, about 2/3 of the area around the leisure pool was done. And they were working on the standard view section overlooking that pond and parking lot (not the section along the driveway).

For the exterior, it includes new roofing, painting, and awnings.

But does anyone really know if the interior and exterior refurbs are actually being done on the same units/sections at the same time? I would expect different contractors are doing different things, so scaffolding outside doesn't automatically equate to refurb of rooms.

I'd love to know about the interior refurb too. We were last there in 2007 and thought the rooms needed updating, so I'm hoping they are completed for our next trip in January.

You will enjoy BCV. We stayed there for the first time last week and just loved it! We stayed at the BC many years ago otherwise we've been frequent SSR guests but I must say we loved the BCV!

We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a studio to a 2 bedroom villa!! We were on the top floor all the way at the end of the wing closest to EPCOT! It was a great location. Even though it was a bit far from the main areas it was like our own little corner, quiet and relaxing...yet just a quick walk to the main areas including BC Marketplace and SAB!

And SAB is great! DD loved the sand pool and I loved being able to float along the lazy river still being able to keep my eye on her!

If you're planning to go to Epcot a lot you can't beat the location. Just walk down the path and you're out the small gate right near the bridge that goes into Epcot. You won't be disappointed!:thumbsup2

There was talk of an in-room refurb this year. Jim Lewis may have even mentioned it during the last annual meeting. But so far it hasn't been added to Disney's refurb schedule and I've heard at least one rumor that the work has been delayed indefinitely.

Work on the building exterior and roof is slated to run into November, but no word on any interior work yet.
