OK I have a business aquantaince who just got back from a first trip to WDW. I told him before he left he will either love the place or never want to go back again. I talked with him today and he loved it. He, DW and 10, 8 and 4 yr old stayed at ASMu.

So I precede to tell him about us and DVC and how we wish we would have bought after the first trip instead of third trip. I get the feeling this will become an annual thing for them. Made a call back to him to talk with him about DVC a little more and then asked if he would mind if I referred him to DVC. He said fine without hesitation and I told him it was very low key, low or no pressure. DVC sells itself IMHO.

So with that said, I would like for him to deal with my guide if possible and I called her earlier but havent spoken with anyone at this time. Have I handled this correct so far? Any feedback would be great and any additional info on how to handle this thing if it progresses.

While I was riding on my mower this afternoon I was thinking how great this would be if it goes through for these folks, and how great I felt to be a part of DVC and these boards. I am glad I am a Disney Nut!!

Thanks
Jimmy

Jimmy,

what you want to do is go the the DVC members site and refer your friend/business acquaintance thru there. Then just make sure when he/she speaks to the guide that they mention you as having referred them. Then when they close on their new DVC membership sit back and collect $200 Disney Dollars. That is of course if your state allows referrals to be paid. There was a thread about 2-3 weeks ago about this and someone posted the states that allow referrals.

Well, I hope that you get your referral incentive easier than we did this time. My sister and her husband went to WDW with us last year and were very interested in buying. (I know it wasn't fair, we were staying in a grand villa.) We actually brought my sister and her husband into the DVC offices and had them meet with our guide. They bought the next day and our guide told us that we would be receiving a referral letter in the mail for our gift. We have done this 3 other times before with friends and had no problems at all. But this happend in May 2002 and we still haven't received anything. I have phoned and left messages with my guide numerous times already with no response. I guess that we will be making a trip to the office on our trip next week.

Thanks for the replies folks. I called MS and gave them all the info and asked if NC would allow the referal deal. Of course the answer was no. NC is a great state to be in but we do things a little backwards sometimes.

Anyway, I was glad to still refer this fellow to DVC and he seemed very upbeat and positive about it. I hope for his sake he doesnt wait 3 or 4 trips into it before he decides to buy like we did.
