Reese's Pieces makes a wish pre-trip report

Just wanted to say hello! I am new to these boards, and haven't started my pre trip report yet, but we leave 12/18! My MAW kid is my 3 yo DD, Mollie Jean, who was diagnosed with a grade 2 astrocytoma in March. We also have an 8 yo DD, Spencer.

Your daughter is beautiful! I am loving all of the pictures!

So, now that Reese is OFF the prednisone, she is back to her normal, happy, sleeping self!

In fact, she was SO excited she got Mickey Mail!

When she saw the box she asked if it was a candy cane. I told her probably not. Then she asked if it was a skateboard. Nope, try again. Her final guess was a scooter. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

She was SO excited to open it, she didn't even take off her coat!

Inside the box, wasn't a scooter or a skateboard or a candy cane, but a BEAUTIFUL scrapbook. She had to inspect every page (coat on of course)

She also felt happy enough to try on her Frozen dress and spent most of the afternoon twirling and dancing.

And finally settled down to cuddle her new reindeer, Sven. While watching Frozen of course!

Sorry for the blurred pictures---Reese NEVER stops moving!

Happy the scrapbook made it safely! Reese is such a little cutie and sending lots of pixie dust for a magical and happy trip!!!

Love the pictures!!!

The scrapbook looks awesome! Thank you Lisa for putting that together for them!

Love the Frozen dress too!!! Very awesome!

Your trip is getting so close!!! Glad to hear that Reese is back to her normal self! (((Hugs)))

She is so sweet! Love the pictures!

I'm on prednisone so I can relate to how she was feeling. :crazy2:

I love the pictures of Reese checking out the scrapbook and twirling in her Frozen dress. We love that movie!!! It was so cute how Reese looked at all the scrapbook pages, almost like reading a picture book.

prednisone is AWFUL. She is on it for 5 days (10 doses at 12.5mg) each month. It takes an extra two days to get out of her system. She wasn't sleeping at all and was just bouncing off the walls. It was seriously like living with a pregnant person. (or me when I was pregnant). Between the not sleeping, her mood swings, and food cravings (this time it was tacos, matzo and butter and pork roll)--it was a LONG five days.

More Mickey Mail! Unfortunately, no pictures yet.

Convincing Reese to try on the clothes is near impossible!

She knows that they are for Disney, and refuses to try them on because we aren't in Disney. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

"They may get dirty!" "I need them for Disney!"

So, I bribe her try them on. She tries it on and LOVES it. Then I get my camera and by the time I get back she has taken them off, because we need to pack them for Disney.

Trying to reason with a very logical, smart three year old is NEAR impossible!:rotfl2:

It took a week of me convincing her to try on the Frozen dress.

Anyway, we received a BEAUTIFUL Christmas Dress and a ADORABLE Grinch outfit for Universal!

Hopefully, she will agree for pictures before the week is up. If not, I'll just have to post tons of pictures of her wearing the items. In Disney. Where they belong!

(This is the kid that won't re-wear her silver boots that were part of her Halloween costume because she can't wear them unless she is Super Girl)

So yesterday we were out to lunch with my parents.

My mom told Reese and I to go to Target, to look at the toys to make her Hanukkah list. (We celebrate both)

Anyway, Reese told my mom:

I don't LIKE looking! I just like picking! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Definitely not a window shopper.

Hahaha... That is too funny about the outfits! They are adorable - I've seen pictures, so I cannot wait to see pictures of her wearing them. In Disney. Where they should be worn. LOL

And I love the Reeseism! Priceless!

Your two last posts about the outfits and about not being a window shopper made me laugh. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You definitely can't beat the logic of a smart 3 year old. I'm happy to wait to see a picture of her when she's in the appropriate location - not sure where that is for the Christmas dress but I'm quite sure that Reese already has that all figured out!

I hope you have a wonderful trip!

I think part of the problem is, Reese doesn't nap anymore so when we come home from work and the babysitter she is EXHAUSTED. And convincing her to do anything when she just wants to go to bed is a nightmare.

If we let her on those days she would go to bed by 6pm. She wants to eat dinner at 4pm!

I am hoping that maybe on Thanksgiving, I will convince her to have a fashion show :) (since we are off and can relax a bit!)

I finalized my schedule for Disney:

Sunday: arrive early afternoon at GKTW, hopefully make the 3pm orientation; 5pm reservations at Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. Walk around there: Go to The Lego Store, World of Disney and Once upon a Toy.

Monday: Epcot all day. Reservations at Biergarten at 12:20. Halloween at Give Kids the World

Tuesday: our CRAZY day. Got reservations at 8:15 for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Go to Animal Kingdom for the Safari at least. (honestly I could care less about Animal Kingdom, but it is one of the places DH want to go to. We have Great Adventure's Safari about 15 minutes from us back home) Have Reservations for a late lunch (1:45) at Hollywood and Vine.

Wednesday: Breakfast at Cinderella's Castle at 9:25. Magic Kingdom all day.

Thursday: Universal Studios. Christmas at GKTW village

Friday: Either Universal or Sea World

Saturday Arrive back home.

Relax on Sunday before work on Monday!

More Mickey Mail--not sure what it is either. (they are still unopened)

We both had a long day. We had a lock down drill at work, and the students were definitely feeling the shortened week for Thanksgiving! :rotfl:

Then, I got Reese from her baby-sitters. (on the way home, I was talking to her about not being bossy and that she isn't in charge. It was VERY quiet in the car. I looked back and she was fast asleep!:rotfl::rotfl:)

So we got home, and DH texted me that the local childhood cancer organization: Ocean of Love is sending over Thanksgiving food baskets with the local fire company.

Reese is passed out on the couch, still sleeping and I am doing EVERYTHING to try to wake her up. About 2 minutes before they came she woke up long enough to see the fireman and the truck and then promptly crawled back on the couch again.

So to make a long story short, we have two unopened packages--one a box and one an envelope.

Definitely will be opened tomorrow morning.

We had 3 pieces of Mickey Mail this week--and finally got around to opening them. Of course, my stubborn three year old is still refusing to try them on because she can't have them dirty for Disney.

I WILL get pictures of everything tomorrow, even if they aren't on her--because they are SOOO pretty.

This week she and I received matching pocketbooks. She also received a BEAUTIFUL Belle ball gown; and DH and I got very cool Despicable Me shirts. Today was a matching Minnie skirt and shirt; and Mickey and Minnie shirts for DH and I. With a Minnie water bottle.

She LOVES checking the mail every day.

So happy you've received so much Pixie Dust this week! I cannot wait to see it all in action!

I just stopped by to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!

We are back home and recovered (or semi recovered!) from Thanksgiving! Reese had a blast---she thrives in group/social settings! She isn't shy at all!

I went out this morning for Black Friday, so she got to stay with my parents. They took her to Big Hero 6. They declared the movie too violent, but she wasn't scared!

I'm not surprised knowing her---she has been talking about seeing "the robot movie" for days now. She was given the choice between that and Penguins, and she chose that because "I really love robots." Okay, Reese.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a quiet day so that I can FINALLY take pictures. We leave for Disney in 9 days! Reese still doesn't know WHEN we are going. She knows we are going because that is what she told Make a Wish--but she thinks we are going in "the winter"--and she tells everyone "it isn't winter yet. It is just autumn" We go on Monday for her to formally make her wish at the Make-a-Wish castle in NJ. (Where we will pick up all the details!)

Stubborness prevailed. I finally gave up and just took pictures of all the big give items that she wouldn't wear because "we aren't in DISNEY yet, mom!"

And I need to start packing. She still doesn't know we are leaving this Sunday. She thinks we are going in the winter, and since it hasn't snowed yet--it isn't winter.

Thank you again, so much for EVERYTHING!

She did HOWEVER, make an exception for the Belle dress.

We went to the Make a Wish Castle in NJ to get her wish formally granted. And because we were in an actual castle (even though it isn't Disney) she decided to make the exception.
