I got the 40% offer in my email today - we already have a vacation booked using the 4/3 offer in March so I am not sure that the 40% is a better value. :confused3

I am new to this and keep reading conflicting information so I apologize for asking a question that I am sure has been asked a million times. The 40% discount only applies to your room rate right? I will not be able to get 40% of a package that includes dining and tickets?

Another post below says that they called Disney today and were able to get 40% off their whole package. Is that possible with the 40% code?

Thanks in advance for clarifying.

The 40% is off your room only...but you can combine it with a package.
so you would book a MYW
The $ breakdown would be:
40% off room
tickets regular price
dining regular price
= your package $$

as far as which is better 4/3 or 40% off it would depend on where you are staying (value, moderate or deluxe) and when you travel dates are (value ,regular or peak season)
HTH:)

You are correct, the 40% off is for room only. You could add dining & tickets on, but it will be normal price.

I think Disney will word the dining plan with "save 30% off your dining"...but that just means if you paid out of pocket for your dining vs paying for the set dining plan price...so I think it's easy for people to get confused.

You can always double check the prices by going on the Disney site & pricing out a package w/dining & tix & then removing them individually, that way you know how much dining was & how much tix was & then essentially how much the room is too. It can take some time, but at least then you can see the break down a little better...I'm guessing those that think they got 40% off the package haven't done the math.

I started a tread on this subject, people are viewing but not commenting... my question was do i try to wait and see if a better AP comes out, or just get the 4/3 deal...

This is what i wrote:
Well, im a numbers runner... and this is what i have found... i'm a recent AP holder, so for me to qualify for the 4/3 deal, i had to buy a 1 day ticket. Plus for the dates i'm wanting to go to WDW, the week of May 10th, right now the 40% off deal doesnt apply to these dates... so then i was thinking about waiting around for some room only deals either GP or AP... but what i've come up with so far... not sure either the GP or AP code could beat 4/3 deal... What do yall think?? This is for a value resort (POP).

My number have shown that using the 4/3 deal (numbers include room w/tax):
Discount percentage off weekday rack rate: 45.70%
Discount percentage off weekend rack rate: 40%

(i goofed on my spreadsheet put 3/4 instead of 4/3)
Here is my math:

Cdn Friends of Pooh - Well your right on the money, the $635 includes 2 MYW tickets, and mine is only for 1 ticket (i go to the parks solo). So the MYW ticket with tax is about $80 bucks. Hopefully i can explain this good.... :)

To come up the the nightly discounted numbers, i first ran what my travels would cost with the room only rack rate, then i did the 4/3 deal, knowing that i had to purchase a myw ticket, i subtracted that from my total price of the package $555-80 (ticket $75+tax=80 bucks) which brought me to $475. So then i took both grand totals and found out what the difference was to come up with my % off. Then i just started breaking the numbers down, since i knew it was goin to be aprox 40-45% off rack rate, I just started messing with the nightly discounted numbers, and i also knew on the weekends they charge you about $10 bucks more, i just kept on messing with the nightly totals till i could come up with bottom number $475. I hope that helps... and i hope my numbers are right!! :)
