Reducing number of guests

Hi I need to downsize our booking as friends arent able to come. How do I go about changing the number of guests ?

Depending on how popular the reservations are, it's probably just easier to leave them as is. How many people are the reservations for and how many people will actually be there? If reservations aren't available for the smaller party, you can just check in for the original reservation and tell them how many people you actually have. Never had an issue checking in with less people than a reservation is for. And for credit card guarantees, you don't get charged any no show fee as long as at least 1 person shows up.

I'd absolutely keep it as is. Since BOG is the #1 hardest to get ADR right now, the less anyone touches it the better. For other ADRs, I'd suggest calling and seeing if they can modify, but with BOG (and 'Ohana dinner before 9pm, and other very difficult ADRs), I absolutely recommend leaving as-is. The less the record is touched, the less chance of something going wrong! (And the Disney ADR back-end seems to be fairly poorly designed, so weird things can (and do) happen.)

Just keep it. What I would try to do, is go there in the morning and tell the restaurant that there will only be two of you, that way maybe they can change things around if they need to. Or if you won't be at MK in the morning, maybe have the concierge desk at your hotel see if they have a direct line to the restaurant to call them. Do not go through Disney dining. If you can't call or go to the restaurant directly, I wouldn't change anything.

You can't change reservations with the current system. You can only cancel and make a new one with the correct number. But since 6 to 2 is a big jump, if it were me, I'd at least try to give them a heads up in the morning.

I just called to reduce the size of our party. We had an ADR for Tusker House for six, and only needed it for four. It took the CM less than five minutes to fix it. He didn't have to cancel and rebook and my confirmation number didn't change. The change showed up instantly online. It was really easy.

Just an FYI - i was in the exact same experience - we are traveling with another family and just found out last night that the other family wanted to back out of some ADRs that I originally made for 10 people but now will only be for 6.

I called up the dining line and asked if there was an issue in showing up with less than the ADR number and was informed that the restaurant might charge us $10 per person that didn't show up (so in our case $40) - she said it depended on the restaurant. She was able to reduce the number on my ADR for the ones that had a CC attached to them so I didn't have to worry about this, but thought I would mention this

Just give them a call if you can and change the number. They can usually just change the number and you keep the same confirmation number and time. If not just let them know at the podium. ok, interesting b/c the person I spoke to on the phone when I called to change the number said I could be charged for the people that didn't show even if some of us showed - that it depended on the restaurant
