Reduced parking at Boston Logan (Preflight Parking)

Just got this email. Reduced rates b/c the Chelsea bridge is closed.

New Lower Rates During Bridge Closure:

There are two ways to save with PreFlight, print a web coupon to save 20% off of your entire parking stay or book a prepaid reservation to save up to 34%*. The prepaid reservation rate is now only $11.95 per day or $75.60 per week.

Construction Notice:

The City of Chelsea reports the Chelsea Street Bridge will be closed until approximately November 30, 2011. The directions on our web page have been updated to avoid the Chelsea Street Bridge. Please use the Meridian Street Bridge as your alternate. Traveling I-90 East during this time? Follow signs to I-93 N and Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Tobin Bridge, Exit 27. Proceed onto the Tobin Bridge and take the Beacon Street exit. Proceed through the stop sign at the bottom of the exit ramp and take a right at the first traffic light onto Williams Street. Proceed on Williams Street for 3 lights (during this time Williams Street will turn into Marginal Street and then turn into Eastern Ave). PreFlight Parking is on the right after the third traffic light. NOTE: If the Beacon Street exit is closed,take the Webster Avenue exit and make a right at the end of the ramp. Follow Webster Avenue to the end, and then turn right on to Eastern Avenue. PreFlight Parking is a 1/2-mile on the left.

They're addressing Massachusetts drivers. I really wish they'd said, "Stop at stop sign at bottom of ramp, then proceed..."

We are a bit snobby and usually just park at central parking...but we have 2 one week trips this year before that coupon expires..

Generally speaking - how long does it take to get to/from the parking lot to Logan?

And does this coupon save 20% off the 75$ weekly rate? Making it only 60$ to park for the week?

Thats a huge savings compared to the 200$ we'd be spending at central parking!

It is only a few minutes from the lot to the terminals, add a few more with the bridge closed. I love them, their vans come constantly and I have never waited more than 5 minutes for a pick up.

The prepaid rate is discounted so no additional coupons-but it is the best rate. the coupon is for if you pay at the gate which is a higher rate. $75 is great, I think a week was running about $118 back in February. I haven't parked at Logan since I started using them, the only way I would use central parking is if we were expecting a blizzard.

Do you call them when you land at the airport or do they have continuous shuttles? (not sure why this matters, but just curious)

We've got car rentals in disney for both of these trips this year which is unusual and this would be a great way for us to offset the cost...we'll definitely think about it!

Our next trip, I am hoping to be staying at the Hilton at the airport the night before we leave...I might call and see if they can get my husband to the hilton instead of the airport for that night..

The shuttles are continuous. I have never waited more than 5 minutes. When you walk outside after claiming your luggage the are signs that say "shuttles". Their vans are black, if you not standing at the exact spot they stop, just wave them down. I don't think they stop at Hilton, you can walk into the terminal, over the covered walkway to the garage and there is a covered walkway to the hotel. Hotel is very close to the terminal and garage (I used to have a lot of meetings there.) Terminal a would probably be the closest.

Thanks SOO much!!! I didnt realize that central parking and the hilton were linked! Pretty pathetic considering that I am at Terminal A monthly since it re-opened for Delta!

We can definitely handle the 5 min walk then instead of a special stop!
