redeeming points?

I have bunch of points about to expire on rewards card. After looking at the options within my point range, it seems like the only things I'd actually use would be gift cards, or an Apple Ipad 2 - 16gig.
The gift cards would be for stores I do frequent, but I've been trying to buy less... and none would be great for holidays (not for places my inlaws go, for example)
Ipad would be nice, but is it worth buying a 2 at this point? I don't mind that it isn't latest and greatest- but will it run the newer apps and whatnot or is it being phased out?

Wish they had a Disney gift card!!

You could always get the gift cards and save them. You don't have to spend them right away. Then when you need something from that store just use the gift card. Or you can sell them on Plastic Jungle or Gift Card Granny.
