Redeeming Onboard Placeholder?

Hey all,

I’m just curious if somebody could let me know how you go about redeeming your 10% off placeholder when booking a specific itinerary? Can this be done online through the DCL website or do you have to call in and talk to a Cast Member and check availability and options with them? If that’s the case, what do you ask/say?? Any exclusions?

No, you have to call DCL to use your placeholder to book a specific cruise.

The only exclusions would be if the cruise you want to book is a blackout date.

Unfortunately, you have to call DCL to arrange for it over the phone. You get the 10% off the cost and only 10% of the cost is required as a deposit, but it's done over the phone

The first paragraph of your email confirmation gives you the number you have to call. But you can narrow down your preferred cabin category and deck on the website first. Calling in to complete your reservation is better anyway. You will find that not all available cabins are shown online. They only show blocks on the port side to begin with.

I believe that the 10% deposit only applies to cruises of 7 nights or more booked with a placeholder. I know that when I just booked a 3-night cruise as the first leg of b2b cruises with the EBTA for next May using placeholders from two prior cruises, the deposit was 20% for the 3-night cruise and 10% for the transatlantic.
