Okay so here is my situation:
My boyfriend and I booked a Disney World package for this past holiday season (December 18-21). We purchased the Magic Your Way 3 Day Tickets. We did not select the no expiration date option and only used two of the tickets. I've heard that as a Florida resident, these tickets do not expire 14 days after like non-Florida resident tickets, but actually 6 months after. I was wondering if this was true? If so, do they keep these things on file? We do not have our room keys with the tickets on them. I was hoping to use the third ticket for my birthday next month.

Thank you :)

I don't think I totally understand your question. When you say you only used two tickets, do you mean you used two days of the three day ticket, or something else? Are you also saying that you don't actually have the tickets?

What you are saying is only true if you bought a special FL Resident Tickets (you ca check the Ticket Sticky @ the top of the Theme Parks board to see what they are currently offering for FL residents, they were at one time called something like Wild for 4 tickets or something like that) - not if you just bought regular MYW tickets. If you bought the special FL tickets, they should have an expiration date marked on them.

If you bought regular tickets without the no-expire option, they expire 14 days after first use, no matter where you live.

Since this pertains to tickets, I'm going to move it over to the Theme Parks board.

You may be confusing two things. Unused tickets never expire, so if you purchased three actual tickets and only used two of them, then the third ticket would still be good. However, I don't understand why you would purchase three tickets if you only had two people.

Instead, I think what you're saying is that you purchased two three day tickets and only used them for two days and you still had one day left.

If that's the case, and if they are 3 day FL resident tickets, then they are good for 6 months. However, if you purchased the tickets as part of a package, then it's possible that they were not FL resident tickets, but rather standard tickets that would expire in 14 days.

If they are FL resident tickets, then you would have both needed to show ID to pick up the tickets to prove that you are FL residents, and the tickets would have been put in your names. In that case you can just show them your ID and they should be able to find them for you and reprint them so you can use that last day.

A Magic your way ticket expires after 14 days if you don't have NE added.

I doesn't it make any difference whether or not its purchased by a FL res with a discount or not.

The tickets that did have a 6 month life were a special Fl Res Play something or other.

OP I'm afraid unless you bought those special Fl res tickets your tickets are expired.

Actually, this isn't quite true. FL resident 3 and 4 day tickets purchased any time do have a 6 month expiration period. (It's also worth noting that these tickets can be upgraded anytime during that 6 month period as well). All other FL resident tickets have the normal 14 day expiration period.

For the last few years there has also been a special FL resident ticket offer at the beginning of each year... this year they're calling it the Wild for 3 pass and it's a 3 day pass that's good until mid May no matter when you purchase it, but that's not what the OP has.

BrettS is correct. I am a Florida Resident and always get these type of tickets. Because the OP visited during the Holidays (when the Wild for 3 Passes were NOT available), she has regular FL MYW Tickets. These do expire six months after first use, so she has until June to use them.

Sorry if my original post was confusing! Yes I did mean that we each got own own three day magic your way tickets with the package. We only used two out of three days. Now we each have one day left that we did not use. So as a FL resident I was curious if:
1. Would they still be eligible to use in April?
2. Since we don't have the hotel key with the tickets on them, how do we redeem the third day?

If they are REGULAR MYW tickets that came with a package and were NOT discounted as a Florida resident, then they have expired. Regular MYW tickets expire 14 days after first use unless you add the no expiration option to them. It doesn't matter if you are a Florida resident or not when it comes to these tickets.

The special discounted Florida resident tickets are separate and I am not even sure those can be used towards a package reservation.

I don't usually get packages, so I'm not sure if you can get FL resident tickets as part of a package or not. Just being a FL resident isn't enough to get the special 6 month expiration, you need to have actually purchased FL resident tickets (which, incidently, are a bit cheaper than regular tickets too).

So, assuming that you do have FL resident tickets, then the answer to your questions are:

1. Yes
2. Show them your driver's licenses and they can look them up for you.

If you don't know whether you actually had FL resident tickets or not, you can try to call Disney ticketing at 407-566-4985 and they may be able to look up the ticket information for you. Having your driver's license ready will probably be helpful and also the exact dates and resort information from your trip in December might help too... if you still have your confirmation number from that trip, that could be useful.

In an effort to reduce fraud Disney ticketing is not able to give you a lot of information about specific tickets over the phone, but I believe they should be able to let you know if they can locate the tickets and if they are still valid.

Thanks for the help! I ended up calling Disney and after talking to several people, I ended up with the billing department. She was able to look up my information about my trip back in December. She told me that yes, these tickets are still eligible 6 months after, and set up a special file for me. Since we don't have the rest of our trip planned, she gave me a special code to give to either the resort or front gate of the park. Once they receive the code, we show our FL IDs, and they can then reprint our ticket. She did mention that this situation isn't very common so I'm not sure if this is how they would always handle it. I really hope all goes well because I will not be happy if I make a trip to Orlando for nothing! lol

Thanks again!! :)

That's great, I'm glad it worked out. If they told you that the tickets are still good, then you can definitely count on them being good. Also note that because these tickets are the special FL resident tickets you also have the option to upgrade them within 6 months.

If you're staying for more than one day you can upgrade them to 4 day tickets for only $36.21 per ticket. This would give you two usable days for this trip (You'd wind up with a 4 day ticket that had two days that were used last december and two unused days for this trip). Unfortunately you can't add more days because the 3 and 4 day tickets are the only ones with the special 6 month expiration date, however, you could upgrade them to a seasonal or annual pass if you wanted.

The seasonal pass upgrade would be $110.23 per ticket and would expire one year from when you first used the tickets in December. These are good to get you into the parks any time within that year, except for three blockout periods... about two weeks around easter, most of the summer (mid june to mid august) and about two weeks around christmas. If you think you might come back during the year and you won't be coming during those blackout periods this might be a good option for you.

Additionally, you could upgrade to an annual pass for $242.03 per ticket... this will also expire one year from when you first used your tickets in december and it's good to get you into the parks any time with no blockout dates. Additionally, annual passholders get free parking, so that can save $14 per day.
