Good afternoon, everyone!
I am going to Disney on Thursday, and I transferred all $30 of my Disney debit rewards to a new redemption card; however, my statement was cut yesterday, and now I have $1.89. I know this program is ending soon, so if I don't redeem now I will never be able to use this free money. I cannot seem to transfer online, and when I called, the woman on the phone gave me tons of attitude and disconnected me from the line so I could not even take the survey on her! When I asked why she could not do it, she said there had to be a minimum of $5; I was almost positive I have heard other people add less than that. She then proceeded to yell at me telling me she has no reason for lying; her tone was extremely rude. I know it's only $1.89, but every penny helps, and especially since I cannot use it again as I will not be going to Disney again for at least another year after this trip. Does anyone know if I can do this or if there is a loophole?

Thank you!

I think you may be out of luck for this trip. The terms of service do say that you need a minimum of 5 rewards dollars in your account to transfer them to a reward card. You can find the instructions and requirements for redeeming here:
http://disneyrewards.disney.go.com/debit/rewards/howtoredeem.html#none
Click on the video at the bottom right of the page.

There might be something in place to allow card holders to redeem the last of their rewards once the program ends but they might not be doing that presently since you still have the ability to continue earning rewards dollars until the card is phased out.

We can earn rewards until July...

Right now I'm buying EVERYTHING with that stupid debit card, b/c I WILL get the most out of it, LOL. I'm still SO annoyed they are ending it and never sent anything to me (I do open mail), and I only found out b/c of the Dis.

5. You must transfer at least twenty (20) Disney Dream Reward Dollars from your Program Rewards Balance the first time you request a Disney Rewards Redemption Card.

If you are requesting transfer of Disney Dream Reward Dollars from your Program Rewards Balance to (i) a previously issued Disney Rewards Redemption Card associated with your Disney Debit Card, or (ii) any additional Disney Rewards Redemption Card associated with the same checking account, all such transfers must be in increments of at least five (5) or more Disney Dream Reward Dollars.

If you think you can get to $5 by July, just keep working on it, and then as it comes to an end transfer to a card...when is the expiration date of the card you just transfered to? Is it this year, or end of '12? If it's the latter, you could use the $5 for next trip, yes?

Ending? Oh no! Can someone help me find the thread on this?

So, you got upset with a lady on the phone, were prepared to spend time giving a negative review and came on here to figure out a way to get $1.89? Isn't your time and energy worth more than that? I'm not trying to be mean, just pointing something out you may not have thought about through your frustration. Move on, that's my advice.

Can someone please post where it does say that this program is ending? We zeroed our points last summer and used them on our August trip. I have money there now for May and will also be going in August. I charge everything to my Disney card and believe me I have enjoyed these points! Hate to see them go.

It's on the budget board somewhere...

I called and confirmed it. There's NOTHING written on their website about it, but if you call you can find out the bad news. They said they will prorate a refund of the fee if you have it charged before they end it.

To do the debit rewards program, we PAY money. Might sound ridiculous to many, but if one doesn't want or can't get a CC but wants rewards...ya do what you want to do.

So we are paying money to get these rewards, and then they decided to close it as of February, but there is NOTHING at all written about this! They SAY they sent out letters, but no one I know (online or in person, including me) actually received one. If you go to their site, there's NOTHING about it.

It's worth being riled up about, IMO! Do you even know how much you have to spend on that account to earn 1.89? Almost $400, that's how much. $400 that one didn't spend on their free debit card, or on a credit card with a different rewards program, etc.

Just last month they ended the free checking that wamu (and other) customers brought with them, with almost no lead time as well. And then they did this on the sly.

They are bringing it on themselves, IMO...the CS reps could at least sound sorry about it, but instead they are giving out attitude (my rep did too, and I knew about it ending but wanted the full info about it). It's ridiculous.

Because you said "charge" you might be thinking credit. It's the debit program (though I personally wouldn't hold my breathe about the credit program, but that's ONLY my thought and opinion based on absolutely nothing).
