Went to the Will Call window at MK on 3/27 around 8:15 am. No wait. The CM quickly glanced at DS's birth certificates and started getting our tickets. I asked to upgrade to one day plus Water Park Fun and More option. I said "we get two options with that, right?" He said "no, it's a one day ticket you only get one option." I said "I thought I read that with the one day you get two options because otherwise it would cost more to upgrade than for one visit." He said "it's a one day ticket, you get one option." I said "is there anyone else I can ask?" He said "we all know the same information, you get one option with a one day ticket." I said "ok, I'll just get the one day ticket now and upgrade later." He handed us our tickets -- no pins, no "thank you for volunteering," no smile, nothing. Later we went to City Hall and I asked a CM if we could get Volunteer pins like I saw other people wearing. No problem, "thank you for volunteering!". Then I asked if I upgraded to Water Park Fun and More for the one day ticket, how many options did I get. She said "one." I said, "are you sure, because then it would cost more to upgrade than one visit. " She said, I'm not sure, let me ask someone else." She came back and said "you're right -- it's two visits for a one day ticket." She upgraded it and the tickets themselves said "two visits." So, the moral of my story is -- it helps to know your stuff from DIS !

I know a ticketing CM who wouldn't make that mistake :)

Unfortunately many of the ticket sellers (and even some Guest Relations people) do not think about the "minor" parks; only about the four theme parks. At the water parks we see this all the time, especially when Guests say when they bought the tickets they told the sellers they wanted to go to "all the parks".

Hi, can you explain this to me a little more? I'm going down next Friday to use our passes and I'm not understanding what you were able to get. For the 1 GAD you got a free ticket to a park, plus water park? For same day or 2 separate days?

You get a one day ticket valid to a (major) theme park. It must be used the day you redeem the vouhcer. However, if you want to do an upgrade the ticket is worth the full value of a one day, one park, ticket.

We traded our vouchers for our one day ticket and then we upgraded that one day ticket to include the Water Park Fun and More option. It was $52 plus tax each to upgrade. This gave us two visits to water parks/DisneyQuest/Wide World of Sports/golf (pick two -- can be used at the same place twice). They can be used on the same day as the park visit or on separate days within the 14 days from first use. If you visited two water parks separately, just for example, you'd pay approx. $48 (adult) for each water park. So it definitely saves money if you plan to do two of those visits.

Ok, I'm sure the answer to this is 'no', but could my DH and I take one of our GAD passes and upgrade it to a 1 day WPF&M pass and each use one of the visits? I can't remember if they scan your finger at the water parks or not and DH really wants to go to TL this trip.

I'm guessing it's along the same lines as using an extra day to park hop, but just want to check! Thanks!

My DD(7) and I are traveling to WDW to use our GAD passes. We are going to be there Sat and Sun. I am not decided as to which day we will go, since I am trying to save $$$, I would like to know how I can get the most bang for my buck. I am curious to the answer to the post above!! And I am trying to understand what I can trade my ticket into, with upgrading. I know I can park hop for $52 and I am confused about the Water parks and more option.
My way of thinking: I can go to the park on Saturday, upgrade to the Water park option and then on Sunday we can go there?? Is this correct?? And I says we can get two options. We can go to both water parks on Sunday?? Or what is the Disney quest thing??

Please help.. This is a quick trip from Michigan and we havent been there to know what options there are :confused3:confused3:confused3

Nope...finger scans are required at the water parks.

If the object is to save money, then you definitely want to use your GAD voucher for the free 1-day base ticket, as its worth $79/adult $68/child. No other option had a definite monetary value.

For $52/ticket + tax ($55 and change), you can upgrade that 1-day base ticket to include the Water Parks Fun and More (WPFM) option. On a 1-day ticket, that will give you TWO admissions to the water parks, DQ, Oak Trail golf, and WWS (exclusive of separate admission events). You can use those on the same day or different days, and independently of your entrance to one of the major parks. So yes, you could go to MK on Saturday morning, Blizzard Beach in the afternoon, and then on Sunday go to Typhoon Lagoon. Or just MK on Saturday, and both water parks Sunday. You actually have 14 days in which to use the options.

However, if you really want only ONE such admission, it is a few dollars cheaper to just pay for the admission separately.

Thanks Seals and Cheshire for the explanation - that makes more sense. Very good to know... we might look into it.
