Red Wedding Dress Question

I am from the UK where it seems far more common these days to wear a wedding dress in colours other then white or off white. I have seen a wedding dress I really like in deep red, it is a full length simple classic design and out of the many dresses I tried on looked the best by far. I never really thought about having deep red for my wedding dress before but it really suited my colouring and seemed to jump out as the one to have. If I was getting married in the UK I would not worry as it is not unusual to see brides in wedding dresses that are not the conventional colour. Although now I am getting married in the WP I am not sure, will people really stare at me wearing a red dress and think I have gone mad?

I don't think so. A lot of brides are using color these days...while it wouldn't have been my choice, there are tons and tons of gorgeous red gowns out there! We had a chinese banquet after the wedding where I had to wear a red dress...I would have loved to have a red wedding gown for that!

You know what I say, if it is the dress you want go for it and who cares what other people think. It is your wedding day - the most fantastic day of your life!! I'm sure it is awesome and if it makes you happy, then that is all that matters!!

I know that a friend of mine is wearing it for her vow renewal. A little different I know, but if you are comfie with the color I say GO for it! Go with what will make you comfie!

It is not something that I would do, but after working in a bridal shop I say it is your day and my advice is do what you want, but if you feel like you will be self conscious then re think because you want to feel like you look the best you possibly could and if there is any doubt then think about it. If you love it then go with it and do not worry about others!

I *love* the wedding dresses with red on them! They stand out so well and are just beautiful! My dress was ivory with black embroidery.. I just couldn't bear to have an all white or ivory dress like everyone else. From across the room the black really popped and I can't tell you how many compliments I got from people weather in the bridal shop, taking pictures in the GF or anywhere else that I wore it for that matter. Definitely not ordinary. Why pay so much money for white on white detailing that won't show up in photos or from across the room? If you love a red wedding dress I say go for it. I don't think anyone has a right to tell you not too and I'm sure it will be beautiful! They are popular here as well, wedding dresses with color are really coming into style right now.

I don't think that a red wedding dress would be bad. My dress is ivory with red. I say it's your day and you should have it the way you want it. If you like the red dress- and the way it looks on you- then go for it.

If you love it and it looks good on you , then go for it. Even if people do stare, SO WHAT, it's your wedding day! You have to love your dress, your the one wearing it, not anyone else. I like the idea, I think it's unique!

My DF would scream with joy if the doors of the WP opened and I was wearing red. It's his fav color and he is also of Asian decent. I think I am sticking to white, but you should definitely go for it!!

I'd say go for it! My dress was Ivory with Navy accents and looking back I am so glad it was. It fit me and my personality-now for any future VR there will also be color involved with that.

My sister swore that she was going to wear a red wedding dress, but ended up with an ivory dress with gold and red accents. It was very pretty! All of her attendants wore red...it was all stunning when together!

I say go with whatever your heart tells you! If you want a red dress, then get the red dress!

This was my sister's dress...she bought it waaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2001 for her June of 2003 wedding...it was made by Impression Bridal
