Red Sox Fans: This Weekend...

How Many Games Will The Red Sox Win This Weekend?

  • They'll sweep the Yanks and win all 4

  • They'll win 3 out of 4

  • They'll win 2 out of 4

  • They'll win 1 out of 4

  • The Red Sox will get swept by the Yankees and win none.

  • Other or don't ask. I'm going to end it all.

*Poll Coming*

How bad or good do you think the 4 game set with the Yankees will be? While I can't keep Yankee fans out of the poll  , I'd really just like to hear from Sox fans on what they think will happen. Yankee fans can start their own poll. :rotfl:

Do you want me to lie or tell the painful truth?

The most positive headline I can remember from the past few weeks is, "Sox avoid sweep." That's all I'm expecting this weekend. 1/4.

I will continue to support the Red Sox and will enjoy the remaining games during these final weeks of September. Win or lose, I love my home-town team! :)

While I love them all I can really say is.....Red Sox :sad2: and then a little....Red Sox :furious: I am hoping to say....Red Sox  :yay: :dance3: :bounce:

I'm not voting in the poll so I won't skew the results, but I'm REALLY looking forward to the "reception" that Big Papi will get in the Bronx after his ill-advised MVP comments! While I'm used to Derek Jeter being insulted on a regular basis, I cannot believe that Ortiz basically threw the rest of the Sox line-up under the bus. That can't have gone over very well in the RS clubhouse.

Edited to add: I loved Bob Ryan's quote in today's Globe so much that I've added it to my signature.

I voted for the last one. The phrase...just shoot me now....comes to mind. However, I'm a diehard fan and will watch the entire series hoping and praying for a win (or four!).

I never did like Bob Ryan. ;)

As much as I would like to say they'll sweep the Yankees, I have a bad feeling. I thought for sure that we would take at least 2 games the last 4 game series in August and well, we all know how that turned out.

Schillings not starting and Tavaras will crack under the pressure in the Bronx.

I'm still hoping that "Sox Avoid Sweep." ;)

I voted they'll win 1 out of 4.

I hope if the Yankee fans decide to boo Ortiz there will be enough Sox fans there to drown it out :) I love Big Papi but don't feel he should be MVP this year. Maybe MVP for our team, but not for the AL.

Can anyone figure out who will be pitching on 9/21? I decided I'm taking my daughter with me for her first game!

I love the Red Sox but being from NY state I am preparing to be teased mercilously(spellin?) about the Red Sox blowing it. I've had old men in fast food joints stop me and berate my for wearing my pink Sox hat before. I didn't vote but I would have to say the last choice is my choice. Is 2007 here yet?

I'm a die hard Sox fan and I can see the Sox delaying the Yankees 10,000th AL East title IF (and this is a HUGE IF) the pen can perform. Of course, that's asking a lot these days.

My heart says the Sox will take 3 of 4 but my head says that it will be the Yanks taking 3 of 4

Does it really make a difference who wins these games?

I hope for just some good games, regardless of who wins!

uhhhh......yes, it matters. Even if the red sox were already mathmatically eliminated it would still matter. I can't ever recall losing to the Yankees and then thinking, 'gee that was a good game'. Win=good. Loss=bad. Now if we were talking about another team (any other team) besides the Yankees I could wholeheartedly agree with you...maybe. But Red Sox vs. Yankees is black and white, no middle of the road, grey area. It matters.

Gee, I didn't realize I had such an opinion on the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry. :cheer2:

For the record, I was wrong.

Aww, don't feel bad. I was too. I thought I was dreaming when I said they'd win 2 out of 4. Two words on the 3 out of 4.. Crisp / Timlin. :faint:

Ummm...go Patriots?

lol, just what I was thinking. I hate the Sox and always root for the other team...even if that other team is the *gasp* Yankees. But some of my favorite people are Sox fans, so no hard feelings. ;)
