Red Mark VII Hits the rail!

Thanks so much for the picture! I hope they're running it now for passengers. The DisBoard ladies need to break her in!:thumbsup2

(Hey dbanzai, BTW, I hope you're having a great time there. If you get a chance to ride the new Mark VII, could you snap a few pictures of the inside too? That would be really neat to see! Anyway, have an awesome time at the parks!)

From what I've heard, it will go through a bit of testing before carrying passengers.

Any idea when it will open to the public? I read on miceage that it is not yet approved by the State to carry passengers?

thats is correct, it should be like about 2 weeks -- 1 month before it opens to guest. Also, it gives the monorail staff some training time to get used to the new monorail. :) I do believe that another new monorail is already in the warehouse ready to be tested as well.

EDIT: hmm, so i found out they are giving CMs the monorail preview so im gonna go tomorrow. Ill report back... :)

So that would mean I have a good chance of getting on this new monorail during my trip on the first weekend in June? :cool2:

I read somewhere this morning that it is being inspected right now and that Wed may be castmember rides, and it may be online for passengers on Thursday :) Blue is scheduled to be online in June.

Thanks for sharing the pic, dbanzai! :thumbsup2

I must say that Mark VII looks uber cool! :cool2: Hope it has completed it's test phase and has been approved before the end of May! :cool1:

I can't wait to ride it this June. Looks like the monorail from the 50s. It is fun looking at the old pics from Dave's Land and comparing it to the new one. http://davelandweb.com/monorail/

I guess this means the monorail we grew up with will soon be on it's way out.:( Well, that is how it goes at DL and WDW. It is a place where things are always growing and changing, yet stay familiar.

Albort

So the CM are the guiena pigs...... it must be close to ready or they would not take a chance on the CM! :rotfl:

Have a great ride and can't wait to hear all about it.

keeping my fingers crossed that it's ready for the Ladies' Only trip!

Its one hot lookin monorail. When we were waiting to board the other it docked for a bit. Its not taking passengers they're just fine tuning it. But inside its got pretty blue lights, tv screens, and the seating setup is totally different.

I like the paint job. Looks very sleek. Did I read Jacky B's post right that there will also be a blue one? I would love that those are my two favorite colors blue and silver.

The monorail is on the normal track, so yes, it will go around the entire park like the others do.

I think there may eventually be three Mark VIIs. Red and blue and I think I saw orange was mentioned too.
