I have seen the tracks they are putting down and have seen on a map what the route will be, but can someone tell me just what it is? Is it a functioning mode of transportation to get from one part DCA to another? If so, I wonder how many people it will transport at one time, etc.

It represents the Red Line system that ran throughout LA and Orange Counties back in the day. There's a map of the Red Line system at the intersection of Sunset and Hollywood in WDW/DHS.

Also, see this Wikipedia link.

As many times as I have been there, I have never seen this, but I will definitely look for it in December if we get to DHS.

Will it actually transport Guests from one part of the park to another?

YEah it will go from the entrance area to the ToT. I don't know if it will have any stops in between. It has one track like the horse drawn trolley in DL, and a split in the middle so the cars can pass eachother.

The Red Car Line was a early transit system that ran in the LA and OC areas back in the 1930's. You could find more about the history on line if you wish. It will transport guests in California Adventure Park from the new to be transformed entrance, through the Hollywood area, to the Tower of Terror.

I have not seen actual photos of the exact trolleys the park intends to use but I'm pretty sure they will be patterned after the ones used in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Hope this helps.

That's interesting because in DHS plans it was supposed to have the trolleys. I wonder now if they willl get them.
