Red coming through on the transfer HELP

Okay - so I am making my girls shirts with this DISign that I got from Michelle's photobucket (thanks Michelle!)

I'm putting it on a red shirt. The problem is, around the princesses, the red from the shirting is bleeding through. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm using dark transfers and I did wash the shirts first. Thanks!

this topic gets posted about once every couple of weeks - sometimes more often.

short answer - probably the iron was too hot or on the shirt too long

I am not sure which brand of transfers you are using but...

When I used the HP transfers, I found that this happened a lot. The way I solved it was to iron them for about half the time the directions stated - maybe even a little less than half.
