Red Carpet Birthday Bash - Help Needed

Okay, my daughter is about to be 13. She and her friends (4 other girls) are planning a sleepover. We have decided that it would be fun to have a Red Carpet Scavenger Hunt at our local outdoor mall. (They are going to wear their feather boas for this...how fun!)

So, now I need some help.

The plan is to meet at our home for pizza before we head out to the mall. The party is on a Saturday so I will have some time to set up the hunt. But I can also recruit some friends to help with this if necessary. I will leave several clues around the mall for the kids. The clues will take them from store to store or to special fountains throughout the mall. Each clue will be in an envelope with a "Glitter Star" on it. The last place they go will be the Stone Cold Creamery where it will be decorated with balloons and a banner and there we will have cake and ice cream.

I need some "Hollywood Themed Clues" for the hunt. Also, should I just ask the store employees to help or should I try to get some friends to help? Any fun ideas?

*Should each clue also offer a "prize"?*

Finally we will come back to our house for movies and popcorn. My daughter is really into all things Broadway and Old Hollywood. Any fun ideas or movie suggestions?

Sorry, I don't have any ideas for clues. However.... make sure you ask the stores involved (a manager from that store) and get the name of who you talked to. If you want kids to 'find' something in a store, the employees are going to have to know about it so they leave the clues alone or know the reason a person is just loitering around the store. Another idea would be to have them ask the cashier at the store for their clue (Amazing Race style). If you enlist friends to help, a friend could be at each store to pass out the next clue--they could wear something identifiable so the kids would know which person to ask (a multi-colored ribbon on their shirt or something).

I am super excited for my daughter because she is really getting into the planning of this party. It's going to be a small gathering, but it's exactly what she wants.

I have been feeling like "Mean Mommy" a lot lately so I love it when I can give one of my children what they want every once in a while.
