Hi,

My girlfriend and I are heading down in a couple of weeks 5/10-5/14 and she has been craving a Red Candy Apple. Does anyone know if they are sold anywhere in WDW? It has to be the old fashioned "Red" and not caramel.

Thanks in advance,

Charles

I'm pretty sure the candy shop in DTD on the West side by Sousa's has them.

I am pretty sure that the Villan bakery right when you enter Disney-MGM has them.

I believe the Confectionery on Main Street has them as well as the candy shop at MGM.

My DH & I are going at the same time...5/10-5/14. Can I ask a really stupid question...what is a red apple v. caramel one? I believe I have only had caramel. Does the red one have a candy coating or something? TIA. Now I'm getting hungry. :)

Yes, the red ones are a "hard candy" coating. I used to get them all the time as a child when we went to Ocean City, Md, and that was about 40 years ago. I swear that the candy apples came out before the caramel apples.

I remember those candy apples from the 50's and 60's. Our local candy store back in New Jersey had a display of them on top of the candy counter with a sign that said: "What a treat to eat! Jelly Apples, 5 cents." Thay also had a shredded coconut topping on the end opposite the stick.

This might be a nice little treat for your GF, I saw on foodtv the other day, Sandra Lee was making candy red apples. I bet if you look on foodtv's site under Semi Homemade you could find the recipe and make some for your GF.

Now, I want one too!!!!

Yummy!!!! We used to have the candy apples when I was growing up in Alberta, I also prefer them to the caramel ones. I will definitely look out for them in September!

The only places I haven't seen candy apples are Animal Kingdom and Epcot.

Last year my sister was pregnant while my son and I were at WDW. She called me 5 times on our last day to remind me to bring here a candy apple back. :lmao:
