I personally am a little weird about old shoes. I only donate old shoes that i had bought and never wore much for whatever reason. I don't mind hand me down clothes but i do not like hand me down shoes. There is no telling what lurks in them :scared1: . It ranks up there with not sharing underclothes. Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program is a great way to recycle your old athletic shoes :) . But what should I do with those 17!!! years old full-leather boots:

They are NOT donatable (worn-out soles and the old leather is pretty stiff). So my question is:
Are those 17yrs old full-leather boots:
- re-useable materials like old athletic shoes
- or non-recyclable, burnable refuse?

Need advice!! Please only serious answer!!

Donating is great and all, but when it comes to footwear, only gently used is acceptable. I think those old boots have been sitting for a loooong time and I´m sure that the leather has degraded as well. Hmmm, IMO they are non-recyclable, burnable refuse. They must be placed in the regular household trash bag and NOT in the donation bag. I´m not a recycling nut, so I hope this is correct answer - please give feedback.

17 years old.. the majority of the boot is leather... dried out.. and not wearable...Yiiiiikes!!! I would toss them into the big black trash bag. Not vintage, those 17yrs old leather boots are just gross garbage. NOT recycling-friendly.
