I know this is a really odd request but I am trying to help a Brit who is on holiday in Orlando with a special needs son who is running a pyrexia and will only take Calpol (a UK brand) and is vomiting up all the US alternatives. Can you buy rectal acetominophen without a prescription in the US??

Yes. But you usually have to ask for it from a pharmacist who will have it behind the counter.

Yes, you can. It will either be labeled under its generic name, acetaminophen, or the trade name, Tylenol. Sometimes you can find it on the shelf. Other times you just need to ask the pharmacist. It's not usually something that needs refrigeration, but I think some pharmacists keep all rectal suppositories in the fridge. Tell your friend this is available at just about any pharmacy in the U.S.
