Recs needed for pool home neighborhood

I already know that Windsor Hills is nice, but what other neighborhoods should I consider for accommodations? We need pet friendly. We aren't visiting Disney this trip--instead, we are visiting Universal. I don't know if that makes a difference. I don't think there are any safe neighborhoods near Universal. We've only stayed in a condo at Windsor Hills in the past. We'd like a private pool this time, but they all look so small! lol Any recommendations are appreciated. It's hard to judge from a website whether a neighborhood is run down or not. And of course I want a safe area.
