Record keeping software suggestions?

I recently started using Quickbooks at work to track income and expenses. I love the ease of using it especially for reconciling (balancing) the checkbook--even though we write a few hundred checks each month it only takes about five minutes to reconcile. I also love it because I can see at one quick glance how much we've spent in any given category. Finally, I love it because math is not my strong suit!

I'd like to implement a similar program for our home money management and am looking for suggestions. Of course I'd prefer a free plan, but I'm willing to pay a reasonable price for easy to use software. Our credit union does not offer this, although I can access my account and move money.

I don't need a lot of bells and whistles. Any suggestions?

Quicken is not very expensive.

YouNeedABudget.com -- or YNAB for short.

I'm absolutely crazy about it, and think it beats the socks off Mint or Quicken. It's a zero-based budgeting program. It does cost $60 (there is at least a 10% off referral coupon online, or that I could PM you) and sometimes goes on even deeper discount. I posted about it here last time it was on sale. Quite a few Disers use it.

I am not exaggerating in the least when I say YNAB has changed my life. We don't make more money than we did when we started using it, but it has brought a clarity to our finances that has been absolutely amazing.

Since you already work with quickbooks, you might just want to stick with quicken since the interface and functionality of the two will be very similar since they are both from the same software maker.
