We will be enjoying a cool Labour Day weekend...our temps are expected to go down to 17 C (63 F), at night 14 C (57 F). I think we have Earl to thank as our temps up until today were 30C or up to 38 C with the humidex (that's 86 F but feels like 100 F)...quite the swing o' temps.

Hope everyone enjoys this weekend, I know I'm looking forward to it. I just hope our Eastcoasters, who are bracing for Earl, won't have to deal with him.

My parents are leaving for the world next week. They are celebrating Dad's overcoming his first big milestone in fighting cancer and are so excited. I am hoping for cooler weather to help them feel more comfortable. The ECV is going to be good too.

Finally cooled off here in Chicago ... high of 70 today and tomorrow. I've got all my windows open, despite a pretty strong breeze that's blowing stuff around. (Actually, I'm getting a bit chilly, but I refuse to close the windows.) This is the nicest Labor Day weekend weather I can remember around here...
