This has been driving me nuts, and I hope someone can help me :)

I grew up in the 70s and had a myriad of Disneyland Records titles on 33rpm LPs, which I loved. I went back to my mom's recently and got them - she had saved most of my titles (Pete's Dragon, Winnie The Pooh, It's a Small World, etc) which were wonderful to listen to again.

However, we can't find one of the records I had, and worse, I can't remember the name of it. It was a collection of Disney lullabies/slow songs from the movies that were out at the time. "La La Lu" from Lady and the Tramp was one of the songs on it. The cover was pink and bluish/green, with (I think!) a picture of a blonde woman on the front (not sure if it was Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, or who.)

Does anyone remember this album? What is it called? I know Disney has new lullaby albums out but none of them are this. Thanks!

Now you're driving me nuts!

I have a book called "The Golden Age of Walt Disney Records 1933-1988".

It lists every Disney record put out during that time frame - 45's, 78's, 33 1/3 LPs, EPs, picture discs, etc. I couldn't find anything through the index looking for La La Lu or Lady and the Tramp.

Can you remeber anything else about it? What other songs were on there, what color was the record label, approx. when it came out?

If you think of anything else, post it and I'll keep trying to find it for you.

Thanks so much for your help!

Ooh, good questions. I believe the label was either the standard Disneyland yellow, or like a deep pink with black writing. I'm leaning toward the deep pink. And other than La La Lu, I have been racking my brain to think of what else was on there. "Lavender Blue" might have been on there too, but I am not positive on that one.

-Every- song on it was a "slow" song from a Disney movie though, none of them were upbeat. I want to say that somewhere on the cover it made reference to it being an album of lullabies, but I don't know for sure. I can't even remember the name of it. I wish I remembered more! But the cover is definitely primarily pink and blue/aqua blue, like large stripes of each - I want to say a large horizontal pink bar at the top with the album's title in it, and the lower part was this bluish background with a woman on the front.

Let me know if you find anything! I truly appreciate you looking it up :)

Oh, gosh, I just found it on Ebay!

Here is a link to a picture:

I went through and just looked at the pictures - I had the cover a little off, the "stripes" are vertical, but the album is called:

"Walt Disney Songs for Bedtime."

Whew! Now I am going to bid. Again, I truly appreciate you helping with this. This has been driving me CRAZY! :)

Edit: I found the songs on it too. They are:

Go to Sleep
Your Mother and Mine
Burro Lullaby
Irish Lullaby (Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra)
Rock a by Baby
La La Lu
All Through The Night
A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
Goodnight Little Wrangler
Sleep, Sleep, Sleep
Brahms' Lullaby

This album came out in 1962, so my mom must have bought it used (or had it from before?) because I was born in '74. That might be why you couldn't find it listed for the 70s?

I'm so glad that you found it!

My book says this was originally released in 1962 and features songs by Ilene Woods, Fess Parker, Marilyn Hooven, Terri York, Bob Grabeau and Kathryn Beaumont.

The book lists the value as $20, for a Mint minus condition record.

Good luck with your bidding!

Thank you! It's funny how things stay with you from your childhood. I haven't heard this record in at least 20 years, but I immediately knew it was missing from the rest of my records (and admittedly, mom sold some at garage sales, etc.) Thank goodness for the internet - I'm fully convinced that most anything you could ever want to know is just a few clicks away :)

Geez Lisa...when you said you were a music expert, you weren't kidding! You have music reference books...wow!! No wonder young Lady Meg was getting all the music trivia questions right at Spectacle of Pins...it's in her genes!!

Magnetic, congrats on finding the album..good luck with the auction!!
