Record 112 Million guest visit Disney Theme Parks

 Very cool! However, I hope it's not so good that they don't have the free dining offer! :rolleyes1

It's neat to see the attendance figures for the various Disney, Universal, and Six Flags parks.

I was surprised that three Six Flags parks made it into the top 20 US Theme Parks (#'s 18, 19, and 20, naturally).

Of course, all three of those parks were down significantly in attendance from '05. No surprise there.

Universal's Islands of Adventure was also down, year over year.

Cedar Point was also down.

Looks like the "thrill parks" really are doing worse than the "family parks" now.

According to the TEA/ERA report, to be successful as a theme park operator, you need to keep it neat and clean, appeal to a broad section of the public (i.e., not just teens or just small children), and keep investing in new rides and shows every year.

Disney's been doing a good job on all three for a long, long time. Kudos to them!

And Kudos to Disney's Animal Kingdom, for getting its attendance up significantly year over year, and now being the 5th most popular theme park in the US! :cheer2: (Behind MK, DL, Epcot, and DS.)

Ransom, where did you find this info? I would love to see it!

TIA
