Reconfirmimg flights

We booked through Opodo with Air France on Delta & it mentions that some airlines require you to reconfirm your flights 72 hours prior. I have spoken to Air France who say it's not necessary but wondered what you do?

Have never heard of this before

Nor have I had to do it. I guess it's maybe if people are gonna no-show so the airline can re-sell their tickets!

we have never bothered to do it.

Not done it since our first flight to Orlando in 1992.

I don't think it's something that is really 'done' anymore for the likes of Orlando, or at least i've never done it or heard of anyone else doing so recently.
