Recommending the Dis boards for park planning

I think conditions have changed so much over the last 6-8 years as to make planning a WDW vacation by a 10 year old virtually impossible.

So complicated, not even a caveman can do it.

I don't recommend any message boards any longer for a first timer. The information is all over the place so it's hard for a first timer to use to plan.

I do recommend 2 books - The Unofficial Guide or The Passporter Guide. It depends on how much of a reader the person is for me to decide which one to recommend.
That way they get quite a bit of the basics.

But the books aren't 100% accurate either with the whole magic band, FP+ stuff being such a moving target right now.

Oh well, we all do the best we can and hope the trip turns out well.

Yes I do recommend the DIS boards for park planning. I appreciate and can sympathize with fellow Disney lovers when they have had a negative experience and take the time to provide a heads up. If I am planning a trip, I use other guests experience to make decisions and choices about my own. In turn, I hope my participation helps other guests.

I think that the DIS can be very useful for planning. I particularly like the Resorts and Restaurant forums for that. However I might warn them about the Themeparks forum if they tend to be a little sensitive. I don't see what goes on here as a big deal but we're all different.
