Recommended Scuba Diving Excursions

We will be going on an Eastern Caribbean cruise with ports at St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Castaway Cay. My husband and son are scuba certified and want to go while at at least one of these ports. Disney doesn't seem to have any excursions they partner with for scuba diving (at least none that we have found). So I wondered if there were anyone here who has gone and can recommend a certain company? Thank you!

Let me me get home tom and look. I have info for both from when we were there in 13. I know there's a dive shop in the plaza in St Thomas maybe 500 feet from the ship. I don't remember the name off hand.

My daughter used Blue Island Divers at St Thomas in April 2014 and had a great time. This was not a DCL excursion. I walked down the pier the ship was moored at and boarded the dive boat. Make sure you dive is scheduled to get back with plenty of time before the ship leaves.

St Thomas is great diving, it was short boat ride to the dive sites and the water is warm and clear. One of the dives was called "Barges". Where several barges were sunk to make a reef, a 40ft dive.

We're sailing the same itinerary in August. I did a lot of research on this question. My husband and son ended up booking Blue Island Divers in St. Thomas. As PP said, it is a private excursion, not through DCL. They are booked for an early dive so we're comfortable with the timing that day. So far the company has been responsive to emails and professional, and they have good reviews so we've got high hopes. I'm not sure when you're sailing but I'm glad to report back after our trip if it will help.

I have gone diving at both St Thomas and St Maarten. I used Blue Island Divers in St Thomas and Scuba Fun Dive Center in St Maarten. Both these port adventures I booked on my own.

Underwater safaris is maybe 500 feet from the ship. Also you can try www.divingstthomas.com will list dive shops etc.
