recommended port adventures for Fantasy on Eastern Caribbean

wow they look great - how did u like them?

We are only booked. Will be going very soon, I can save this thread and come back to let you know. Others have gone on their trips before and raved about how great they were.

Well to be honest we just booked the cruise a few weeks back, so I guess that is to be expected. I am fine cancelling the boat excursions, getting a cab and going to a beach with restaurants/bars and chilling. It gives me a reason to come back. :-)

We booked the May 19, 2018 Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy and are looking at excursion options for Tortola and St. Thomas. We're considering the tour to Virgin Gorda (without lunch), and we've read great things about Honeymoon Beach, so we're looking at possibly booking an excursion that goes there. Any advice or suggestions? This will be our second Disney cruise and we didn't book any excursion on our first one to the Bahamas.

It's $8/pp each way to Magen's, about a 20-25 minute ride. It's $5 per person to get onto the beach and free for kids under a certain age. They have a website with the information on what you can find there. It's so much cheaper to do this yourself.
Is it hard to get a taxi to Magen's Bay or all they all lined up as you get off the ship?

It was really easy. I've been on 2 Disney cruises and used the taxi service.

On our first cruise, we got right off the ship when the doors opened and taxis were lined up right outside the gate. On our second cruise, we got a later start and we had to walk for a taxi. After we walked through the gates, we just kept walking straight back towards the outlet stores and taxi company employees would point us in the right direction. It was maybe a 3 - 5 minute walk to the parking lot. My dad was nervous because it seemed sketchy to him, but I promise it's not. We ended up in a 15-passanger van with air conditioning. Perfect!

Just remember that sometimes a taxi won't leave until it's full to make the most of the trip.

We're cruising on the Fantasy to the Eastern Caribbean and stopping over in Tortola, St. Thomas/Charlotte Amalie, and Castaway Cay. I know it's still a little ways off before we can start booking anything but I was hoping to start planning a little so that we can start discussing our plans as a family regarding the port adventures. We'll be a party of 6 with my mom, wife, and I and 3 kids. They'll be 9.9, 8, and 4 at the time of travel.

Does anybody have any recommended port adventures at any of the ports that you recommend? I saw the Sting Ray adventure on Castaway Cay and I think we'll do that. That seems like something the whole family can do. Anything else that you might recommend that I look into? Thanks.

I absolutely love the Stingray Adventure on Castaway Cay. Definitely a highlight for us!

On St. Thomas we've done two different excursions: Turtle Cove snorkel on a pirate ship and a guided open air bus tour of St. John (the island is accessible from a ferry from St. Thomas). The Turtle Cove snorkel is not something I'd recommend, given the ages of your kids. I found it challenging at an adult - you're basically in open water. It was crowded and difficult to see our guide sometimes, and the water was quite deep. We loved the tour of St. John. They had several options for this type of thing as I recall, where you could just do the tour or do a jump on/off thing. The beaches on St. John are BEAUTIFUL. I don't think you can go wrong with doing a beach day on that island.

Just make sure it's the Honeymoon Beach in St. John's and not on water island in St. Thomas.
