Recommended Movies?

My DD8 is a little older and we (DH and myself) are gettting a little tired of all the cartoon ;) shows. So I grabbed the orginal Love Bug movie. DD didn't seem excited until we started watching. Now she can't wait for the re-make to come to the theater :cheer2:

We do WDW in the fall and I expect MGM to have something to go along with this latest movie

Any one out there with older kids... maybe another non-cartoon type disney movie for me to get? Would love to hear!

My Kids aren't older, but they love Flubber and George of the Jungle.

I like the Sing a Long tapes - the Its a Small World one shows kids going on rides and attractions at DisneyLand and interacting with the characters - it gives the kids the best idea of what they will see at the park, and shows the size difference between the kids and the characters. There is also one that is set in waterparks of Disney World, plus shows the pirate cruise and luau show at the poly.

I see in some posts people talking about Sing A Long tapes that show kids Disney characters interacting, and kids getting on rides. I have found Disneyland fun..but can't find any others..are there more...or is this the only one??
Thanks.

My kids are 7 and 10, and enjoy the Mary Kate and Ashley ones (The challenge, Switching Goals, When in Rome, Passport to Paris, Billboard Dad to name a few), and my daughter loves the Princess Diaries, Ella Enchanted, Cinderella Story, Freaky Friday, Lizzie McGuire Movie, Spy Kids, etc.. I know you won't see any of these 'characters' at the Parks, but they are ones that I can enjoy watching with her! Some of them have some 'older' themes like kissing etc.. but nothing too serious!
We also love to watch as a family-The Incredibles and Emperors New Groove. We were excited to hear the Emperors New Groove 2 is coming out soon :cool1:

A favorite around our house is "The Ugly Dachshund". It is about a married couple whose Dachshund has puppies. When the husband picks them up from the vet, he is talked into taking an orphaned Great Dane puppy home for the mom to take care of. He does not tell the wife at first.

It is a very cute dog movie with a lot of silliness - the doxies are a little like the Siamese cats from "Lady and the Tramp" getting the Great Dane in trouble. It stars Dean Jones (who else!? ;) ) and Suzanne Pleshette.
We have 2 Great Danes so of course we love it but it's really cute for everyone!

Oh thank you for reminding me!!! I have not watched The Ugly Dachshund" in ages. We are dachshund owners and I forgot all about that movie. I'll have to look for it on DVD tomorrow. Also will check out the "sing along" one. I have seen others of that style but not the one in Disneyland setting. I thing it will be fun to see the parks and rides. Set in California? right?

thanks for all the great suggestions :cheer2:

We have the Campout, it is shot at WDWorld.
Also Disneyland Fun, and Christmas one.

Ok..This is my first post here so, I don't know what I'm doing. LOL . I suggest Jumanji*, Space Jam*, The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, The happiest millionare, The parent Trap.Inspector Gaget,Tom and Huck, The Princess of Thieves, The Princess Bride(MGM),Watcher in the Woods(14 or older),Bednobs and Broomsticks,Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! * means I'm not sure it's Disney..Hope this Helps.

:flower: Another Mary Poppins fan here! I also started my girls pretty early with the Sound of Music. At first they would only watch about 30 minutes but after a while they could get through the whole thing and it began to be their favorite. Also Old Yeller and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

Well, you post like a pro! ;) Welcome!
"Watcher in the Woods" If you mean the movie with Bette Davis, my DD12 watched this last year with some friends. They STILL talk about it and how scary it was!

Yah thats the one..I rented it to watch with my DS10. I hadn't watched it in ages ,luckly I watch it first before letting him. It would have scared him silly. My DN14 and DN18 watched it and loved it though. Some more great movies are Labrynth(sp?) ,Willow, Legend(12 and up). However I don't think any of these are Disney movies. Legend is the one with Tom Cruise and it's a little dark. When will I ever earn to spell correctly? :rotfl:
