We will be going to WDW next May when DD will be 5 and DS will be 3. They have seen just about every princess and pooh movie and know those characters as well as some from Playhouse Disney like Bear in the Big Blue House and JoJo.

What else do you recommend for them to see so that they have more familiarity with what we will encounter on our vacation?

Thanks to all!!

Lion King, Robin Hood, Pinnochio, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins

If I think of any others I will post again.

Bugs Life-lots of that there, and not scary for your age of kids

Peter Pan, Peter Pan. Peter Pan. I didn't think my dd would like this movie. It's now one of her favorites!!
have a fun trip.

We bought our son "Sing-A-Long Songs - Disneyland Fun" before we took our last trip. Not really a movie, but it shows a good many rides from Disneyland and the characters while songs play and the words to the songs are on the bottom of the screen. My son (who was 3 during the trip) definitely recognized the characters he saw on the video. Mickey, Donald, Chip & Dale, Goofy, Roger Rabbit (who was popular when it was made) and Minnie. Also Mary Poppins and Burt, penguins, and Pluto. There are more but I can't think of them at the moment. Anyway, it is a great video. I bought him more of the Sing-A-Long Songs and he doesn't like them at all.

I had ordered the trip planning dvd from Disney. My kids watched it over and over again. They would get so excited watching it and showing me what rides they wanted to do - I would definitely send away for that.

Monsters, Inc., Toy Story 1 & 2, Bugs Life, Incredibles, Brother Bear, Lilo & Stitch and Mulan just to name a few. My DS (4) loves all the characters. Have a great time.

Toy Story films, well all the Pixars, and Tarzan, too.

Dont know if this is related.. But recently I saw tarzan 2 at a DS and I loved it. SO i would suggest 2 and then 1 of Tarzan!

I second Sing Along Songs - Disneyland! DS also enjoyed getting to know Mickey and the crew. He liked The Three Musketeers (not one of my favorites) and Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas (new in 2004).

Cinderella, Toy Story, Pinnochio, The Emperor's New Grove, Road to El Dorado, Shrek, Ice Age, Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story II.

Not really a movie, but we played a lot of Disney Scene It. (We called it the kid's "final exam").
There are lots of trivia questions and video clips that help expose the kids to different movies and characters and the questions are very child friendly and truly fun for the family. My DD 4 loves it and can whip my tail with her Disney knowledge. It's one game I don't mind playing.

My 3 year grandson and I love the Disneyland Fun Sing-A-Long.
Other Sing-a-longs with the Real Disney characters (not cartoon) are:
The Twelve Days of Christmas--even has Uncle Scrooge and Huey Dewy and Louie

Campout at Walt Disney World--Includes Fort Wilderness and the original Discovery Island.

Beach Party--Takes place at TL BB and some beaches -- It has a luau at the poly with Minnie and the gang and even has a nice part with Ariel in it.
Also a part on the pirate ship. Alex loves it when Captain Hook and Peter pan have a deul and Captain hook falls over the side of the ship into the water!
Flik's Musical Adventure takes place at the Animal Kingdom. Flik is the ant in TTBB. Mickey and Minnie have some small parts in it but Flik is the host.

Alex's favorite one is Happy Haunting.
It is a halloween party at the HM in Disney complete with Trick or Treating in Toon Town.

He loves that one. We are taking him and his mom (dd )and dad (dsil)
to MNSSHP this October for his first Disney Trip.
I can hardly wait.
I hope others enjoy these Sing-A-Longs as much as we have.

Only 95 more days :cheer2: :cheer2:

Disneyland Fun-is a most. We have had it since my DS was 1 years old...boy time flys. He got a new sing along ever month for a will there. :goodvibes
I would recomend Honey I shrunk the kids!

My kids love all of the Disney Sing-Along-Songs videos. There are songs/scenes from several Dinsey movies on each one.

Dinseyland Fun, Beach Party, and Flik's Animal Kingdom Adventure would be great to watch before a trip to the World!

Have fun!

We just went to the library today. My kids have never seen 'Lady and the Tramp' or 'Sword in the Stone', me neither for that matter. We picked them up and will be watching this week.

I think they should watch Peter Pan, Dunbo, Mary Popins, Alice in Wonderland, and Toy story1&2.
I have meet alot of charectors from those movies. :cheer2: :cool1:

I just found Song of the South at our library and thought we'd give it a try for our ds4... He loved it. Plus, I thought it would be cool for him to become familiar with the brer rabbit, bear, etc because this year will be his first time riding Splash Mountain.

Many posters have already mentioned the classics, but I'd just like to add 101 Dalmations... we love the story, animation and music.

Another poster mentioned Sword and the Stone... my ds4 just found it and loved it.

Fortunately, my dh and I love the shows as much as ds does!

The Sing-A-Long Music videos are GREAT!!!! especially for the young kids. My DD2, who is very shy, loved watching these videos before our trip. When she saw the characters at WDW, she couldn't wait to go "hug them". It was too cute!!!

As for other movies, do not miss Mary Poppins!
