My grandma let me know that she is able to go with me to Disney World May 9th-13th. I told her that I planned on staying at All Star Sports because that's where we stayed on my first trip with my family and my grandpa. She told me she wants to stay in a regular hotel (meaning no catwalk) and that she would treat me. I wasn't sure if she meant off-site or on-site, so I asked if she wanted to stay at a nicer hotel on-site or if she wanted to stay off-site.

While I would hate for her to pay for the hotel and I won't let her pay for it all, that puts a damper on my EMH plans a little bit because most hotels on-site have catwalks and the ones that don't are some of the deluxe and deluxe villa resorts along with the Swan and Dolphin. I would NOT let her pay for those, even with the 40% PIN (excluding Swan and Dolphin). While I would love to stay on-site, it probably won't be possible. I'm not going to let it get me down even though I planned on being at MK til 2am the day we arrive because I am very grateful my grandma is coming with me.

With that being said, what hotels off-site do you recommend? I was looking at the ones that are Downtown Disney hotels so I can be as close to the parks as possible. Which ones would you recommend, if any?

Thanks!

How about the Hilton in DTD so that you can still take advantage of the extra magic hours? The transportation is suppose to be very good and you can walk to DTD. They have great rates for this hotel on lastminutetravel.com. I think they range from $80-$97 a night which can't be beat for this hotel!

How wonderful that you value this trip with your Grandma! The Hilton sounds like a good fit for all you want to do. Good luck and have a magical trip!

Thank you! I didn't know I would be able to attend EMHs for that hotel! I just got an email back from my grandma and she says she wants to stay on property, which means I might be staying in a deluxe hotel. :scared1: I may have to talk her into the Hilton because I don't want her to pay for those expensive hotels, even if she can easily afford it and even with the PIN.

Edit: It looks like the Hilton is completely booked for our dates.

What about any of the other DTD hotels? We stayed at the Best Western for one night last yr had a disney view room (check mousesavers.com for discounts) and they have shuttles its a disney preferred room so may partcipate in EMH
