My grandma let me know that she is able to go with me to Disney World May 9th-13th. I told her that I planned on staying at All Star Sports because that's where we stayed on my first trip with my family and my grandpa. She told me she wants to stay in a regular hotel (meaning no catwalk) and that she would treat me. I wasn't sure if she meant off-site or on-site, so I asked if she wanted to stay at a nicer hotel on-site or if she wanted to stay off-site.
While I would hate for her to pay for the hotel and I won't let her pay for it all, that puts a damper on my EMH plans a little bit because most hotels on-site have catwalks and the ones that don't are some of the deluxe and deluxe villa resorts along with the Swan and Dolphin. I would NOT let her pay for those, even with the 40% PIN (excluding Swan and Dolphin). While I would love to stay on-site, it probably won't be possible. I'm not going to let it get me down even though I planned on being at MK til 2am the day we arrive because I am very grateful my grandma is coming with me.
With that being said, what hotels off-site do you recommend? I was looking at the ones that are Downtown Disney hotels so I can be as close to the parks as possible. Which ones would you recommend, if any?
Thanks!

I may have to talk her into the Hilton because I don't want her to pay for those expensive hotels, even if she can easily afford it and even with the PIN.
