Recommended Food outside of DLR????

And I thought I was the only one!;)

I am also not a fan of In N Out. I especially can't stand the french fries. They are undercooked IMHO and just not tasty.

Anyway, here's another shout out to Mimi's Cafe (especially for the Pain Perdu breakfast) and a vote for Red Robin which is over by the Crowne Pointe hotel. We love Red Robin and it is about the only sitdown restaurant out there that DH and I can get out of for less than $25 including tip!

yeah I am not a fan of In N Out either...my dd loves it ...the burgers are ok but I dont like the fries...she used to eat what they call animal fries....its not on the menu but if you ask for it they know what you are talking about...its fries with like thousand island dressing and grilled onions yuck:crazy2: but hey its popular so to each his/her own:confused3

YAY!! I'm not the only one!! :) That is so good to know! lol My BFF doesn't like them but she has an allergy to wheat so can't eat the buns, that's why she doesn't eat there. LOL

OP, I also forgot about

Joe's Crab Shack & Red Robin...both very good and not too far if you've got a car. :) How I could forget those I don't know.....I was in a rush, that's my excuse! lol

What kind of crazy are you????? How can you expect us to take your restaurant suggestions now??? ;) J/K... :thumbsup2

Not crazy at all....YOU're the one with Crazy in their s/n. :rotfl:
Besides, for a great burger.....go to Nations!! Oh my goodness, YUM!! Is there a Nations near DL??

Thanks for some suggestions...I have to say that I have never had In N Out burgers, but I have always wanted to try one, and that was going to be on my agenda at some point while in CA. I have heard about them for years. Now my expectations may be lowered:(

I do love Red Robin, we recently moved from CO to TX and had one close by in CO that we ate at a lot. We do have Cheesecake Factory as well, one on my all time favs.

There's a lot of good suggestions, it's helpful to know what is close by. Like I said I hadn't really planned on eating outside of the parks, because I hadn't really thought about it. We most likely will still eat inside the parks the majority of the time. But it's good to know that we have other options if we change our minds.

I really need to figure out which restaurants I would like PS for at DLR, our trip is a month away, and I have to say planning meals in advance is harder than I thought it would be. I was thinking of just winging it and when we get hungry we'll find a place to eat. But it sounds like it's better to at least a have a few planned meals to avoid waits and lines.

Thanks for the "food" for thought! :)

Just a quick note. Many of the restaurants in DTD take PS for dining as well. So be sure to utilize that...especially for the Jazz Kitchen, ESPN & RFC during peak times. If you're off peak then you'll be fine but those places get very busy during peak hours/days. :)

Just thought I'd add to the vote for Mimi's. We always eat there several times during a DL trip. Good food, reasonable prices, walking distance to/from the park.

hi, we are staying at the hojo and as we do not have i car i was wondering if it is possile to walk from the hotel to the cheese cake factory, i have seen that there is one in garden walk, but we dont know where this is, this is our first visit to annaheim and we do not know the area at all, thanks susie2

The Cheesecake Factory is on the corner of Katella and Clementine. From HoJo's it's a long walk, but about the same distance as HoJo's to the Paradise Pier section of DCA, so it's doable. Here's a Wikimapia view of the area.

I want to jump in here and ask about dining for adults. We have lots of kids but are not taking them on our upcoming trip to DL. I want to know if anyone has a suggestion for a nice dinner. Time away from the parks will not be that big of an issue because the parks will close by 8p. We are not set on staying onsite to eat and will have a rental car but would like to check out DTD one evening straight from the park. We are staying at the CCI.

I'd check out Napa Rose in GCH or Steakhouse 55 in DLH

In-n-out is one of the best fast food chains in the business today. I dont know how anyone can prefer McDonalds, Burger King, Or Wendy's over In-n-out. It is hard to imagine, But I guess there are people out there that like microwaved hamburgers over fresh hamburgers. For a fast food hamburger, You wont find anything better than In-n-out.

Well, I don't eat fast food burgers unless it's a major pinch and nothing else is available. Wendy's burgers are not microwaved, they cook them right there in front of you. I can't stand McDonald's or BK and will only eat at Carl's Jr every once in a while, like every 3 months or longer. I just don't like fast food burgers, I'll eat a salad or chicken sandwich anyday over a burger. In N Out is not good, it gave me an upset stomach all 3 times I tried to eat there, I don't like the toppings, the taste or the bun. Definitely NOT for me.

I know Wendy's arent microwaved, But they still dont taste that good to me. I would rather have a double double from In-n-out anyday of the week as they use fresh ingredients all the time. Maybe, Because I was raised out in Southern California, So I grew up eating them alot.

These days, I live in Massachusetts and I really miss the joint. When I was out there in Los Angeles in April for 8 days. I had In-n-out everyday of the week. Sometimes, I stopped there twice in a one day. Out of the 8 days, I had a total of 19 double doubles as I normally eat 2 per meal with french fries, But only one on my second trip of the day.

Before my April trip, It was almost 5 years without having In-n-out. I guess that is why I went crazy that week. If I still out there, I would do my normal twice a week stop at In-n-out.

Of course, Everyone has their own opinion on what place is better. These days, I rarely have hamburgers unless I cook them at home which is very rare or go to McDonalds and get a double quarter pounder and that only happens maybe once every other month.
