Hello fellow DISers! I am planning my graduation and my mom's birthday trip, and I want to start getting the Dining Plans ready. We have the normal dining plan, with 1 quick service and 1 table service per day. I want to try some really good restaurants, but I have some guidelines if you wanna help:
1. My parents love a good adult beverage.
2. I want to try something more than a hamburger and fries.
3. I need 1 breakfast table service for the last day, as we are paying for breakfast the other days.
4. I need 5 dinner table services for the first through the 5th day. (We are staying 6 days 5 nights)

That's basically it. If you can help me, you are a good person, and shall be rewarded with a virtual pat on the back and round of applause. I also believe a "thank you" and "have a magical day" we be involved as well. :wizard:

Can you share a little more about your plans? Which parks will you be in, what kind of food do you all enjoy (seafood, Italian fare, etc), are you willing to leave the parks to eat at a resort, etc.

Ok. Sorry that I forgot more detail. :guilty:

We will go to all the parks, except for Disney Quest, the Water Parks, and the golf courses. We don't really want to eat dinner in the Animal Kingdom Park, but if you find a great table service breakfast place there than that would be fine. I like international cuisine and seafood (Chinese, African, Italian, etc.), but I don't want anything REALLY spicy. My dad is the kind of guy that likes steak and potatoes, but he will eat anything but vegetarian. My mom likes nothing raw, especially her veggies, but she will eat anything if it looks cooked enough and if it looks good. We will be able to leave the parks to visit a resort, and if it's on the monorail than it's even better, as we are staying at the Poly. One more thing I might have forgotten to mention is that We don't want to use 2 credits per meal, so restaurants like the California Grill and Victoria and Albert's is off the list.

I can recommend Kona for the breakfast. Since you are staying at the Poly that would be a wonderful choice.

Also Ohana. The meats are usually "done" although you can ask for med and so forth. But usually brought well to the table unless otherwise specified. Your dad may like that too, even though not potatoes, all my family that are meat and potatoes ppl love Ohana.

For a real meat and potatoes, home cooking type meal. Liberty Tree Tavern's dinner is a good choice. A all you can eat, family style, roast beef, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese type meal.

Those are some I can think of that may fit. You also may want to check out Cape May's seafood buffet for yourself. It is 1 TS credit and might fit the bill for everyone as well.

Good luck and have fun on your trip. :)

Your family is smaller than mine but tastes are similar! We are planning 50's Prime Time for DHS (unless we decide on Fantasmic Dinner Pkg, then we'll do Mama Melrose); Epcot has SO many choices! but I love Rose & Crown because you can eat outside, the beer is great, & the staff is nice to my kids, otherwise may try Via Napoli for the flatbread pizza; at AKL we'll probably do Tusker House character bkfast then Flame-Tree BBQ CS later on; no adult beverages available at MK, so you might want to go resort: we splurging for Yachtsman's Steakhouse for my DH, but there's also O'hana, Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, and a boat-ride away: Whispering Canyon. Just some thoughts:surfweb:

With 5 dinners and 1 breakfast you'll have one meal too many. The dining plan is based on number of nights you stay, not days, so for 5 nights you'll get 5 table service meals.

Really I thought I saw 6 day dining plan? Oh well, if worst comes to worst I'll pay. I just want 1 table service breakfast before we leave so that we can get a lot of Disney Magic squeezed in.;)

3 best 1 ts meals I've had at WDW:

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker - exceptional breakfast buffet

Boma was a great buffet with some unique items

Le Cellier (book lunch if going after conversion to 2 ts, then use your cs for dinner at one of the great Epcot cs locations)

We loved Kona Cafe for dinner and also Kouzzina. They are not difficult to get ADRs, and Kouzzina also has a great wine list. If you are one restaurant over on your meal plan you might try Shula's at the S&D. Great steaks and I read here on the Dis about $25 gift certificates that you can buy for a few dollars.

1) Some good alcoholic drinks: Grey Goose slushie from France at Epcot, Lapu Lapu's at the Poly.

3) A good breakfast table service: Kona Cafe!!

4) Some places we like to eat dinner: Chef Mickey's, Kona Cafe, Mama Melrose, Le Cellier, Hollywood Brown Derby, 1900 PF, Yak & Yeti.

We just ate at the Kona cafe for breakfast and dinner. The Teriaki steak was the best meal we had this time. We both subbed mashed pot for whatever it came with. Leave room for dessert(choc fondue) they are all yummy. Breakfast was very good also. Coral reef has a decent steak. Both are good for cocktails. We also like to sit at the lounge at T-rex for drinks and apps. I would steer clear of buffets they are not relaxing after a long day in the parks.

A lot of people have been recommending Kona and Ohana, so I'm definitely doing those. I am probably going to Ohana's for the breakfast, so if you can all please recommend only dinner places now.

Thank you, and have a MAGICAL DAY, if you made recommendations so far. I give you a pat on the back, and if I had $$$$ to spare, I would give you each $,1000.

I second the Kona for breakfast thought

My favorite TS places are Boma, Teppn Edo and Kona Cafe

I also like Tuttor Italia, the Coral Reef, House of Blues, ohana and the San Angel Inn
