I went to a consignment store to day with some used children s items to sell. Couple pairs of shoes, a few shirts, pants all named brand and gently used and some toys. I accepted the $15 offer but I was a bit disappointed. I think I might be able to get more money for my used goods online, anyone recommend a site they use? TIA

I sell my used clothes and baby gear on Facebook. There are tons of pages set up in my local area for everything -- and some are specific, like strollers only, or high end clothing only (with a list of acceptable brands), shoes only, etc.

I've sold at our local Once Upon a Child and usually get $2/piece there... but if I'm willing to put in the time, and travel to meet people, I can usually sell clothes (from Janie & Jack, Gap, Tea Collection, etc) for $5-$10/piece.

Thank you, I did not think of Facebook. I'll look into it :)

I've sold a lot of baby stuff on Craig's list, as well as on local Facebook groups.

toys especially sell well on Facebook groups. For clothes and large baby items I've personally had better luck with semi-annual consignment sales. For the good ones you sign up and can list everything at the prices you want. The sale managers do claim a certain percentage of your sales but you'll get a very large # of people looking at your stuff and typical sales are around 75% of what you bring which is a lot gone all at once! I got very annoyed with the FB groups because I was only selling a couple items at a time and scheduling meet-ups was difficult for me.

Regardless you can expect to get from 25-35% of original retail price on clothing and most items unless it's really high end or practically brand new.

Good luck selling!!!
