Anyone have any ideas on some dining options while we are at Universal. We will be checking in at RPH on Friday, June 25 and checking out on Sunday, June 27. Basically looking for inexpensive options for 3 lunches and 2 dinners. We plan on doing breakfast things in the room. We do have AP's so we can get a discount at some restaurants.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Pam

Order pizza from Flippers. They'll deliver to the hotel lobby. I'm going to try it when I visit June 15th. Bring ziploc bags to save the leftovers in a cooler.

There is a Publix grocery store 1 mile north at the NW corner of Kirkman and Conroy road. They have deli subs.

Burger Digs in the Jurassic Park section of IOA is nice for a cheap lunch.

See you there on the 15th!

Is Flippers the best pizza in the area? We are planning to order, but tend to be picky about our pizza. TIA!

BWVPam,

We are checking in on the 25th, out on the 29th (unless I can figure out a way to see the mouse then maybe on the 28th). Do you have AAA? I know that Hard Rock Cafe offers a 10% discount perhaps others do too. I keep meaning to read that AAA thread at the top so I can see if they list any others.

robvia,

Thanks for the tip on pizzas. Sounds like a great idea!

When we were at Universal last year DH, DS and I would split a salad or appetizer. Then DH and I would share an entre while DS ordered off the kids menu. We did this mainly to save fat and calories, but I do remember being pleasantly surprised when the check arrived.

Also, DH and DS love those smoked turkey legs and have been content to share one of those for lunch in the past. I like the soft pretzels they sell in the parks and I have made lunch out of those.

Yes, we have AAA and Annual Passes (i know hard rockgives an AP discount).

Thanks,

Pam

I think ANY eating place in the Studios, Islands, (except outdoor carts), Citywalk, or Hotels give either an AAA or AP discount. at Citywalk or Hotels it's mainly AAA. you also get discounts on souvineers too. will you have a car? you can also pick up a styrofoam cooler fill it with things to fix sandwiches. it would be a short trip back to the room and then you could save your extra money for a good dinner at night. whenever me and DD eat in the parks, (burgers, spaghetti, drinks etc..) it usually runs near $20 after discounts. when DH is with us it runs alot more.
:D Linda

We got a pizza at the Pastamore window in CityWalk and took it back to the room to eat. I think it was about $15 dollars or so for a pretty large one. I'm not really sure about the price. It was pretty good pizza, too.

Thunder Falls Terrace at IOA and Louies at the Studios.

The International food Bazaar is pretty good and has many different things to chose from like chinese, mexican, chicken etc..
I like their egg rolls. :D

I enjoyed the Enchanted Oak Tavern in IOA. You get quite a bit of food too so it's easy to split with someone else.

U will get a 10% discount at citywalk restaurants and in parks 15% Nacscar and NBA are pretty reasonable :jester:

Thanks everyone for your responses. We will have a car, so we may go off site in the evenings.
