Recommendations for New Years Eve or the 30th- no park plans

We are headed down Thursday and would love to see from fireworks from outside the parks. We have 3 kiddos: 17, 10, and 5. Wondering if we park at DS and take a bus to Grand Floridian if we can watch the fireworks from the beach for the 6:30pm show on the 30th. In the past when we stayed at the resort, we saw the fireworks and music was piped in at GF.

I would like to avoid the 31st and the craziness. We will stay at our hotel (Wyndham Bonnet Creek) for the evening due to chaos I'm sure that will be everywhere, unless others think that the Boardwalk would be fun for us earlier in the evening( not staying past 9pm) and try to catch Harmonious from the bridge area.
