Recommendations for Fantasy servers???

I feel a little strange requesting servers. I have done so on one past cruise and wasn't that impressed. I have been on about 6 Disney cruises and have loved all of them. Most of our servers have been pretty good but the last two have just been meh! I've always wondered how they assign them or where you are located in a dining room...perhaps I am getting "beginning servers" because I am an not paying top dollar for the cruise? Who knows? Anyway, I have finally convinced some family members to cruise with us and to try Disney this October and I would really like for the experience to live up to what I said it is...FABULOUS! My family that is coming has three younger kids (9, 6, and 4) and I would absolutely love to be assigned a dining team that will be great with the kids i.e. magic tricks, etc but also wow the parents so that they will want to continue to cruise with Disney in the future. Any suggestions? And will Disney honor requests? (I transferred my ressie to Costco - if that matters).

Anson was our best server in 6 cruises! He was just great. Our most recent server on the Magic was just meh since we kept comparing him to Anson on the Fantasy!

We sailed June 13, 2015 and had Benjamin as our server, Clefton as the Assistant and Anil as the head server (ALL 3 from India) and they were absolutely AMAZING! The kids and adults all looked forward to nightly magic tricks and brain busters.

I do know that Benjamin is heading home the middle of July to renew his Visa and said he might be home as long as 8 weeks but would be back with no plans on leaving DCL anytime soon (he has been on the ship for 5 years already).

We had Nemanja on one of our Fantasy cruises. While his service was excellent, I don't remember him doing magic tricks or entertaining the children. It could have been a different Nemanja though.

Anson was our server for Palo brunch last week on the Fantasy. He was amazing.

Alfredo from the Dominican Republic and Victoria from Scotland literally made our cruise. No other CM on the ship made us feel as special as they did in the dining room every night. Alfredo said his contract is running for a few more years, so if we end up on the Fantasy again we will 10000% be requesting them. He even did magic tricks for us, two childless 20-somethings!

How were the table locations as well for these servers?

We had Alvin (from Philippines) and Dejan from Croatia. Cedomir from Croatia was head server. My kids were 10 and 12 and loved them. They gave us brain teasers, did magic tricks and Alvin even rolled napkins up into a doll and mouse for my girls. We will certainly request them again! Even Cedomir came by and talked to us and teased my girls (they loved it) every meal. My parents have been on many non Disney cruises and they said this was the first time they had ever had a head waiter talk to them.

Our table with Benjamin and Clefton was table 99. It was starboard side in each dinning room. In AP it was directly in front of a large screen off to the side of the room. In Enchanted it was off toward the side with the port holes close by to watch the sunset. Best of all- in Royal it was in a side room with only a few other tables but was right against the port hole so we had georgeous views while the room was much quieter than the normal dinning room.

Don't know when your cruse is but we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Gavin from Trinidad (he actually lives in New York though.) He was our server on our 1st Fantasy cruise and we requested him for our cruise we took in late April and he was so excited to see us and especially our DS8. He did magic tricks for DS and certainly caterered to us and all of our special requests. DS is super picky and when his spaghetti had "green stuff" in it (from using the same strainer for broccoli), Gavin personally went back and got him noodles without the "green stuff." DH wasn't feeling well one evening and didn't come to the MDR so he had his dinner delivered to the room. DH loved the escargot so he made sure there were escargot every evening for him. He started his 3 month vacation on 5/9 so he won't be back until August.

Ferdi from Indonesia is great. He always did tricks for DS and remembered us when we saw him last week. We had him 2 years ago, but not this past time.

YES!!! our favorites!!! had "Nemo" two years in a row- he was going to come and visit us in NY but they changed his contract/schedule and he's not even going to be on our August cruise....i believe he'll soon be promoted to head waiter!!

Nemo never did any magic tricks- two years ago his ***'t (and now waiter) Tan did them...Nemo is a great guy though- tremendous server and person!!

Apologies for butting in to this question... do you call ahead of your cruise to request a specific server or do you do this once you board? If you call, what's the likelihood of getting your rotation, private table AND server requests all fulfilled? Slim to none I assume :/

You need to make the requests ahead of time. You'd have to call at least 2 weeks ahead of time, but I'd recommend earlier than that.

I'd say if you are in a concierge level cabin, the odds are pretty good of getting all your requests. Outside of concierge, I'd agree that you'd be pushing your luck to get all 3 requests. I'd restrict your request to whatever is most important to you.

We were at Table 81 - pretty decent locations in Animator's Palate and Royal Court (half booth at Royal Court) but a junk spot in Enchanted Garden - we were sandwiched in between two server stations and a pole. Ah well, it was still worth it to have our own table!
