I have just started looking today for a car rental we will need March 2013 (canadian march break) for one week. Looking for an SUV and we will need two car seats as well. Can u recommend a company? I have a teacher discount at enterprise but it doesn't seem that good. What about Dollar? Any help would be great! I need pickup and drop off at Orlando International MCO. Thanks!
ps- the cheaper the better. But I want a company that is reliable and won't lose my reservation :-)

All of the major car rental agencies are about the same. If you don't care about rental program benefits, go with the cheapest rental with an airport location.

Keep watching the prices. I had a Standard Crossover SUV reserved with National for around $800 (9 days of Ontario break). I dropped that one last night and rebooked with Alamo (same company) after finding they dropped their rate by about $130 over National's. No discount codes found yet for March - probably won't see those until January, but you can usually update your reservation if you get a code.

Ultimately I hope to get back over to National so I can get the points, but for $130, I couldn't pass it up!

A minivan with Budget using travelocity code x474200 is $302 inc taxes from Mar 9 - 16, 2013. You can add a coupon later to take another $30 off that to bring it down to $272. Coupons expire end of Dec at this point.

We're having the same issues finding something affordable, actually we are renting 2 full size cars for March break for 8 days. Pick up at MCO is outrageous with any of the companys Ive looked at ,the extra day as well seems to really inflate the price. We did find there were better deals though through Car Rental Momma than booking directly with a couple of companys. Now our flight times would allow us to go offsite (10:30 am arrival, 7pm departure) Just curious if anyones done this and how it all played out. I dont recall which company but the difference between MCO and off site was over $300 on 2 vehicles. Any input that anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

You are starting WAYYYYYYYYYY to early for rentals in March. Wait until at least January. No need to frustrate yourself needlessly.

I don't think so. We will be there the week before the op. Utilizing the code webworm posted. Never too early to reserve a minivan at a great price.

I am glad you got a great rate, however, rates tend to fall a few weeks before arrival. THe poster is looking for a good rate for 2 full size cars, those rates tend to drop more rapidly than mini van rates.
Case in point: I made a reservation for a friend 3 weeks before his arrival at MCO for a standard size car. This was last March. The rate was 158.00 for 5 days (weekly rate). Three days before his arrival I checked again, the rate for that same time period.......58.00 total.

Correct, that it's never too early to book a car at a good rate, as long as the booking is easily canceled. With rental cars, the rates go up and down and up and down. Book one when you see a rate you can live with. Then keep on looking! If you find a better deal, rebook. Google for coupon codes, etc. I stay away from the super cheap places (fox) and book avis, budget, hertz, etc. Whoever has the best deal. But keep on checking and checking and checking.
