Recommendations for Birthday Dinner

My husband will be celebrating his 30th b-day while we are down at Disney in two weeks. Could anyone recommend a good place for dinner for 6 adults and 2 kids (14yrs & 7yrs), the kids are not adventurous eaters.

We celebrated children's birthdays at Chef Mickey's for dinner. They do have mac n cheese and I believe they had chicken fingers. The dessert choices were many, you can order a birthday cake or they will bring a cupcake with a Mickey chocolate face, there's even an autographed placemat. I know there is a section on Deb Will's site for birthday ideas.

Chef Mickey's and an adult birthday somehow don't jive well with me. Thinking about that place gives me a headache, and an upset tummy.

I'd suggest a couple differnt things. The California Grill and Narcooses are both lovely and offer a fairly sophisticated menu with a fireworks view. Both are family friendly nad also have a childrens menu.

Another option might be Boma if the adults are adventurous eaters. It's less expensive than the first two ideas, and is a buffet with something for everyone (unless someone has food allergies, then stay clear). There is also a kids buffet with the standard issue kids stuff. The nice thing is that kids can try items from the rest of the buffet, giving them the opportunity to sample without worrying if they don't like it.

Any WDW restaurant can provide a cake if you call ans speak to them a few days in advance. Depending on what you want, they may or may not chanrge for it.

We went to Rose & Crown for DHs 40th birthday. We got a table by the water, a birthday cake and a great view of Illuminations. By the way, the cake was too much for us and we shared it with a table of "new friends". Great special magical moment.
