Hi,

I'm planning way ahead as our trip isn't until September 2018 but I'm looking for Steakhouse recommdations. It's both mine and dh 30th birthdays a couple of months before we go and our 3rd wedding anniversary a week before we go and as we're both big carnivores we thought going out for a good steak would be a good celebratory meal. The 2 that have made it to the top of the list are the yachtsman and shulas, although I'm open to other recommendations. Does anyone have recent experience of these restaurants? Thanks :goodvibes

We are definitely Shula's fans, in fact we have 2 ADRs for this November. We like STK second and Yachtsman third.

STK is good. It has a bit of an urban vibe. My favorite steak so far is Le. Cellier in Canada. We had the filet during food and wine it was so delicious we had to get a reservation for our next trip.

The best steak i've ever had at disney was at Artist Point. Cooked to perfection and so delicious. The place is gorgeous too. And pretty quiet! I highly recommend.

BTW i've never been to Shula's so i cant comment on that.

Thanks for your help everyone :goodvibes I'll definitely look into the other options. Maybe we need to do a tour of all the Steakhouse over the 2 weeks! :rotfl2:

Sadly, the filet you get at Food and Wine was Dramatically better then that they serve in the restaurant. Service is also very spotty and you will be seated on top of your neighbors. All I could think was 'this was the biggest dining ripoff ever'

As a general rule food served at places NOT "Disney managed" will be better, next will be food served at "deluxe" restaurants not in a theme park.

One option not normally mentioned is Boathouse. They serve aged beef from Gibson's in Chicago so it's great meat!

I second the recommendation of Artist Point! My DH is a steak snob and he was very happy there!! It's beautiful, and we sat at a window where we could watch the Electrical Water Pageant go by. We also love Shula's outside of Disney, but since there are Shula's in other cites that we travel to, we don't go there in Disney. It you haven't been to Shula's, though, or don't have one nearby it's very good and worth a visit.

We are planning to try Yachtsman next time. Lots of good choices. :)

We're from the UK so shulas doesn't exist here at all which is possibly why it's more appealing to us than people who don't have to travel far to get to one.
I'll definitely be checking out artists point!! It seems to be a popular place, and thanks for the recommendation for the boathouse ☺

Love Shulas, Not a fan of Yachtsman but the best is down the road at the Waldolf at the Bull and Bear.

Steakhouse CRAWL! My husband would love that! Shula's has always been on our list of to-do's because DH is such a football fan and who wouldn't want to order off of a menu shaped like a football??

We'd definitely get a kick out of the football shaped menu :rotfl2:

Love Yachtsman. Great steak and service!
If you are willing to go a very short distance off property, the Bull & Bear at the Waldorf Astoria in Bonnet Creek is the absolute best!

We LOVE the steak at Le Cellier, but we also would love to try Yachtsman. I tried my moms at CA Grill and I loved the pork I had so much more and the steak at Le Cellier was better than CA Grill. There's a Shula's not too far from us, so it's not something I would go to FL for, so I would go with Yachtsman or Le Cellier.

I live in Texas, so I know great meat, and Le Cellier is delicious. I've been 3 times and have never felt like I was on top of anyone. Never close enough to hear anyone else's converstation, for sure. Delicious Poutine, cheddar cheese soup, and the PorterHouse for Two was amazing. Best restaurant at WDW, for us.

My DH is all about steak, especially a fillet. We do a signature almost every day at Disney so he can get a steak. We are fans of Yachtsman's for all of the food & we love the atmosphere. Plus we're usually staying at Yacht Club anyway. But we tried STK in December & thought it was so delicious, better than Yachtsman's. We had the fillet at Flying Fish in May & thought that one was delicious also. We have only been to Shula's once several years ago. We weren't that impressed at the time, didn't think it was better an Yachtsman's. We'll try it again one of these days.

The Yachtsman is awesome.

I haven't been to Shula's, but I will eat there some day. I've been reading Disney restaurant reviews for years, and I've almost never seen a negative word said about it. People who have eaten there love it.
