A friend of mine will be staying at SSR within a month or so, can somebody recommend which is the best building to stay at? They will be staying at a 1 bedroom. I guess it is preferable to be closest to restaurant and bus stop?

:cheer2: :yay:

Hi,

I don have a specific building number for you but we like to stay in the grandstand section when we go. I has a great quiet pool with a bar and drink station and a water spray section for the kids. There is also a lighted path that leads to the main building where the resturaunts are. Its about a five minute walk tops. Lastly, its the first bus stop on the route.....a big plus for us.

Hope your friends have fun!

I agree! :thumbsup2

closest to restaurant and main pool is the Springs. It's the last bus stop, which is great on the way out of the resort (to parks) but bad on way back. If you have young kids, this is a no-brainer. Grandstand is much further from main building.

For overall satisfaction i.e. distance to main buildings, bus stop (first), quiet pool with poolside bar, I say Grandstand preferably one on the buidings overlooking the pool.

We stayed in Congress Park last year and we loved it. About a 7 minute walk to food area and main pool.. and its closest to Downtown DIsney.

I am also curious to see the answers to this question. Although we own at SSR we've never stayed there yet. Kinda, maybe sorta planning to use our 11 month booking window tho to stay there over spring break NEXT year. Not sure if we'll go thru with the idea or not tho since the point re-allocation. Still tossing the idea around. We know that it is HUGE tho and I've often wondered where the best place to stay would be as far as the bus stops and the main pool & restaurants. We stayed at OKW once and did NOT like the building where we were staying - it was too much walking to get to the main pool etc. I'd like to avoid a repeat of that if we can. After all the walking in the parks etc. a 10 min. walk each way to the pool or to a restaurant is too much for me.

Are you allowed to request a certain area there when you make a ressie? I know it's only a request, and will not be guaranteed...but do they try to accomodate requests for certain areas? I would also think being one of the first bus stops would be helpful if you're on your way to the parks so you don't have to wait on a bus that has room? How many bus stops are there anyway?

Grandstand or Springs is what we've heard. We'll be at GS in 10 days

We are staying at SSR in April and have requested the Grandstands area. Report back when you can and give an update!

I vote for the Grandstand area also. They are the first bus stop going to the parks and the first one returning so its fairly easy to get where you want to go without hitting a full bus each time. Its also very convenient to the water play area/pool and only about a 3-5 minute walk to the main building for dining.
