We are looking for a good place to have seafood in Orlando. My father is specifically looking for a buffet style place. Any ideas?

We have enjoyed eating at the Shells located on 192 in Kissimmee. It is not a buffet but we have had pretty good luck there. They have very good New England clam chowder.

Well I can tell you where not to go. Don't bother with Angels Lobster & Seafood Buffet. The lobster was very tough and I can get better crab legs at our local chinese buffet. The only thing I really liked was the prime rib but not for the price I paid. I went to the early bird and that was $19.99, after that the price went up about $8.

Ditto on Angel's. The sad news is the other buffets in the area (Boston Lobster Feast and Lobster Fest and the like) are just as bad. Over cooked food, horribly messy serving tables and overall nasty.

Your best bet is to choose a nice restaurant and order seafood for your entree. There are several in the Dr. Phillips area of Sand Lake Blvd. (Hotel Plaza Blvd to a left at Crossroads on 535 to an immediate right on Palm Parkway that becomes Turkey Lake road to a left on Sand Lake). You'll find many restaurants to choose from in this area. You can also take a right on Dr. Phillips Blvd. and find some more restaurants there.

Went to Coney Island lobster buffet last week and left because I was sure we'd end up with food poisoning (think Circus Circus buffet in Vegas). Went across to Capt. Nemo's. It was cleaner and we stayed but lobsters were extrememly tough and for $30 bucks a person.......... We originate from New England so I really only like to eat lobster when I'm there, can't be beat. We have done Angels and Boston and while not great, was better than the aforementioned two. We've decided not to do the lobster fests anymore.

We went to Crabby Bills because the picky author of The Unofficial Guide gave it a good review. We thought it was terrible, food, service, everything. My husband said the author must've been from Minnesota!! Nothing against the midwest, but when you come from New England, you just know good seafood! Anyway, thats JMHO!!

Good luck in whatever you decide....

I think it's GREATLY over-rated but many people swear by the buffet at Cape May in the Beach Club.

We've been to both the Cape May and Angel's and far prefer Angels, but it has been three years since we were there.

We've done very well getting out to the smaller ones that cater to the locals. Great Prawns, Scallops and Oysters to be had at these places, but Orlando isn't the place to look for a inexpensive, quality Lobster Dinner.

It's not a buffet, but the best seafood we have had was at the Living Seas restaurant at Epcot. Had been to Angels a couple of days before, and the lobster didn't seem right. There is a buffet at Angel, but don't know where they get the lobster. Sometimes more is less.

At the Living Seas restaurant, the price was actually cheaper than Angels for a party of five (the lunch prices.)

The view of the pool was absolutely marvelous, and the lobster bisque was to die for.

Hello...lots of good answers...I agree the message is a buffet is a buffet. Angels has lots of seafood besides Lobster and some fresh fish..all buffet style. The crablegs are pretty good. problem is you are paying 20 to 25 bucks for about 10 percent of the buffet if you head for the lobster and crab. Angels also can get real busy and the lines move slow.
Shells is great. Lots of good crab for about 16 dollars...good 1/2 shell oysters.
The other place we have enjoyed is the Crab House in Lake Buena Vista. If you like cold oysters on the half shell, crayfish, cold whole crab as an appetizer they have an all you care to eat salad bar add on to dinner with unlimited all the above plus lots of salads

Good Luck...Ted

We also like Shells and Love the Crab House. There is one on International and one in the Crossroads near Downtown Disney. Their shrimp stuffed with imperial crab meat is great.:earsgirl:
