Of course I am the planner and the packer of my household. I'm looking to get my husband a good pair of walking shoes . What do you recommend? Crocs? sandals? I am bringing his sneakers but I want something else. thanks

He'll want those sneakers for days at Animal Kingdom and Epcot (and probably Magic Kingdom too). For the sake of your feet, use real shoes on those days. Save the sandals (or Crocs) for resort, park hopping nights, and maybe days at the Studios (far less walking).

I like NB's and Nikes for sneaks, Rockports for walking and Deer Stags (really comfortable) for dress shoes. Tevas are good for the water ride days. Don't forget the sunscreen on top of the feet!

You need to get your husband to try on several pairs of shoes from various manufacturers so he can find some that are comfortable for him. Then, buy two pair and be sure they both get broken in before leaving for WDW. His feet will thank you. :rotfl:

I have flat feet, so I have suffered a bunch on past trips wearing sneakers and sandals. This past trip, I broke down and bought a pair of Crocs. They are everything people say and more. My feet felt great, I did'nt get any blisters, and they are great now at home, around the house and running errands. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did!

Keens are pricey, but very good shoes. They are sandals with sneaker support and protection. You can get them wet, and they dry in a flash. They are light and breezy but you can do a sprint if you need to! They are great shoes for Disneyworld trekking!!:thumbsup2

Husband is a converted croc wearer! :cool1: I bought myself a pair 2 years ago when they first came out and kept telling him how wonderful they were. NEVER he said NEVER would he wear anything that ugly! Well, I bought him a pair anyway and packed them in the suitcase for our trip. HE of course, brought his Nike sneakers. Our first morning we came back to relax for a few hours and he says, maybe I'll try the crocs out this evening. NEVER TOOK THEM OFF AFTER THAT and has been wearing them ever since! He's on his second pair. So I would go with the Crocs! :thumbsup2

I'd alternate them with crocs. I did 3 days in a row in crocs at the parks (from opening to closing). My feet hurt less than they did the time before in sneakers, and much less than the time I wore sandals (cheepies).

My DH andBIL both wear Keens. They have great support and are water proof. You can find them at Bike shops, sporting goods stores. Alot of hikers use this type of shoe. My DH has worn them 3 times to WDW, golfs in them, would probably wear them to work if he could. They are not cheep, around $100 but you can find them on sale from time to time. It would take alot to wear a pair of these out! He also loves his Birks, but for rainy days at the parks these just dont' work out.
I have also seen an 'airwalks' brand of these at payless for under $20, don't know how they compare though..

Just bought my DH a pair fo Teva Sandals for our upcoming trip since he usually wears running shoes and they may be too warm this time. He doesn't care for sandals but really likes the enclosed toe and unbelievable comfort of these. We don't find the crocs have enough support for the parks but are great for around the pool and resort. Good Luck!
