Recommendation for watching the fireworks when the castle is covered

Does anyone have a recommendation for watching the fireworks now that the castle will be covered? Normally, the castle is part of the firework show and has lower level fireworks from the roof and sides. Since it will be covered, it doesn't make sense to be right in front of the castle. I am thinking, more down Main Street since the fireworks (I am assuming) will be high with no low one around the castle. Any suggestions?

The current fireworks show is Fantasy in the Sky. It is one of the old shows (but still good.) It is totally "in the sky" and there are no low level fireworks. (ie nothing on Castle or Tom Sawyer Island.)

What do you mean "castle will be covered" did I miss something? leaving tomorrow for DL :)

I would probably take this chance to check out one of the other viewing locations, just for variety. Normally the castle is such a big part of the show, so it feels like your missing out on some of the show when you watch it from somewhere else, but in the case, that might not be the case. I recently watched Believe...In Holiday Magic fireworks from It's a Small World Mall. It's a different, but still fun, view of the show.

We've watched from the upper level of the Main St train station, although with the ride closed, that part may be blocked off. I particularly like watching the fireworks from Fantasyland. I try to pick a spot in front of Dumbo where the trees won't block our view.

They'll also be covering parts of the castle. I'm not sure if the walkway through ti will be closed, but I've heard that the wishing well area will be blocked off as well. Rumor is they're adding "diamonds" for the 60th anniversary.

Castle covered and walk through closed from 19th Jan to 2nd March.

re the fireworks - this from this MiceChat Link

"The show runs a mere four-and-a-half minutes, a far cry from the spectacular 10-20 minute shows Steve Davison has been bringing to Disneyland for the last 15 years. If you want to watch the show, don’t bother camping out. Unlike more recent fireworks shows, there’s no reason to watch “Fantasy in the Sky” from in front of the castle, nor is there any reason to invest any time waiting for a good spot to watch it from. Nearly anywhere in the park where you can see the bursts overhead is a good spot for this one".

If you're planning to see Fantasmic, you can stay and watch the fireworks right after and it is a great view. I'm not sure if Fantasmic will be running every night...if not, along the water in the typical Fantasmic viewing area would be a great choice. I watched the holiday fireworks from there and I actually had a better view than when I was on Main Street.

Thank you everyone for the input and wonderful insights. Sounds like anywhere on Main Street will be great. Excited about our upcoming trip.

I totally second the recommendation to stay after the first show of Fantasmic! and watch them from your seating area. The view is great, and you can just stay where you were--no need to battle any crowds.

I did this just last night, and it worked great. (And rode Pirates after...perfect ending to a great day!)

I came here to ask about watching the fireworks from the F! Blue Bayou section after the first show and the answer was already here! I *love* this site! :goodvibes
