I am sure this has been asked before, but wondering what the current thinking is for tipping the concierge hosts. Also is anyone tipping the folks in the concierge lounge ie. Bartender? If so how much? On our last cruise we tipped the concierge host just a little more than the stateroom host, hope this was appropriate. Thank you.

We'll be on the Eastbound Transatlantic in May and are looking forward to 14 nights of bliss on the Magic in stateroom 8532. We are planning on tipping our concierge hosts $5/person/night (there are 3 of us for a total of $15/night). This is obviously something that can change depending on the level of service we receive from our concierge team. Our plan for our stateroom host is to tip $7/person/night minimum ($21/night total) at a minimum. We don't feel the recommended $4/person/night is adequate considering the size of the suites compared to other staterooms so we've decided on a minimum of $7/person/night. The stateroom hosts, in my opinion, have a much harder job than the concierge team and, therefore, deserve a bigger tip.

We tipped the concierge staff in accordance to what they did for/with us. The bartender in the concierge lounge was our hero for the B2B we did and we tipped her $10/day.....she really made sure my glass was always full during the open bar times and made sure that when it was time for her to close up that I had a drink to take with me! The staff: make sure you give your tip to the person you want it to go to....I thought it would be divided amongst them only to find out that it went to the person to whom you handed it.....lesson learned for the second part of our B2B. Hope this helps......have a great trip!

Originally, the concierge was not a tipped position. There were so many inquiries about tipping that the guideline was instituted as "at your discretion." I would base the tip on what services they provide to you.

I'm with the above poster--the stateroom host does a lot more work than the concierge, and given the size and increased complexity of cleaning a suite, the host should get more for caring for a suite than for a normal cabin.

I agree completely.

Oh Dear!! I filled out the tip "worksheet" and gave it to one of the three concierge hosts (Dream). He said he would take care of it. I tipped the concierge hosts figuring they would split it 3 ways. I hope one didn't keep the $150 and stiff the other 2. :scared1:

I also agree the stateroom host for a suite should get more than what is suggested for a regular stateroom. A T suite has over 600 sq feet and 2 full bathrooms. I saw our guy Mario all the time working in our area.

Our experience has been with concierge hosts that have been very attentive and went out of there way to make our vacation as Magical and stress-free as possible.
