Does anyone have decent, affordable movie projector? I am not looking to spend a ton of money, but want one that is reliable & doesn't break the bank!

I've recently bought one on ebay for $200 no less!! And a 3000 lumens one, which means pretty darn bright. The ones at best buy are typically under 2000 lumens. You need one that is at least 1500 lumens to do the job IMO. I would just suggest looking on ebay and picking up something cheap. THey go for so cheap on there that its not that big of an investment, I watched tons of auctions over a month or so and got a really good deal, could have gotten other deals around this price as well. Granted you may have to buy a new bulb in a year or so depending upon how many hours are on the particular bulb of the particular projector you buy, but that happens to all of them. I would rather spend a measley $200 on a used one than drop $1000 or more at Best Buy. Can't help you on brands per se, because I don't know which ones are best, I would just go by the hours on the bulb and the lumens.

I shall call and ask my FIL tonight, he builds and installs custom home theatre systems and movie rooms, so I know he knows all about this stuff. The type he installs would be way more than you want to spend (the average cost of the rooms he creates is around 10-15k) but he knows about the good value projectors too!

OK - thanks for the info.

We have an Epson, I don't recall the model but it is probably around $500 or under. It literally survived a tornado. Good luck.
