Recommendation for family dining, outside the parks?

We're hoping to take a trip to WDW in February (possibly the week of President's Day weekend, but not on President's Day). We'll spend 5 days on site, with 4 days in the parks. We will not be on the dining plan, and aren't especiallly particular about food/restaurants normally, but I'm thinking it would be fun to schedule one nice/fun/family meal at a Disney restaurant on the day that we don't visit the parks. We have 2 boys - 8 and 4 years old. This wouldn't have to be a character meal, though that would be okay. I would just like to go someplace FUN and memorable, that would offer something different that your normal off-site restaurant wouldn't offer. Any recommendations?

Dinner at 'Ohana! In the Poly. It's not a character meal but they do really fun stuff like coconut races, the limbo, hula dancing, parades, etc. We love the food, too. It comes family style.

The boys might like the Hoop De Doo there is a dinner show that they can watch

Have you thought about Whispering Canyon Cafe?

I haven't been there yet, but it sounds like a fun, relaxed place that might be great for the boys.

I'm sure other people have been to WCC and can tell you what they thought.

Happy Planning! :)

O'Hana is so fun and memorable we've been twice and going again in December if DH gets a new job since he was laid off last week. I love getting up and doing the hula. We always have fun there.
